The Market Pressures That Make QFD Valuable

    Voice-Of-The-Customer Gaps

Many Taiwan product teams still design from assumptions rather than structured customer data, leading to features customers do not value and missed needs that surface only after launch.

QFD builds structured VOC capture skills

    Costly Late Design Changes

In fast electronics and semiconductor cycles, design conflicts found late in prototyping inflate cost and delay launch. The House of Quality exposes those trade-offs before they become expensive.

    QFD surfaces trade-offs early

    Tightening Quality Standards

ISO, IATF 16949 and CE requirements, plus stricter material-purity and carbon rules, demand traceable design decisions that QFD documents from customer need to process control.

    QFD documents traceable design decisions

    Medical Device Qualification Pressure

Long qualification timelines and audit-ready design controls make customer-to-specification traceability essential for Taiwan's fast-growing medical device sector.

    QFD builds audit-ready traceability

    Cross-Functional Misalignment

Marketing, engineering, quality and manufacturing often work from different priorities. The House of Quality gives teams one shared, customer-anchored planning tool.

QFD gives teams one shared planning tool

    Scarce Customer-Driven Design Skills

Taiwan has deep engineering talent but fewer professionals trained to run structured QFD workshops, making the skill a genuine differentiator in product roles.

QFD is more than a matrix. It is a practical way to design products customers actually want. Build the skill that turns customer needs into better design decisions. Start your QFD journey today.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Quality Function Deployment is a structured, customer-driven method for translating customer requirements, the Voice of the Customer, into specific engineering and design characteristics using the House of Quality matrix. It is widely used in product development, Design for Six Sigma and service design.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment (QFD)?

Quality Function Deployment is a structured, customer-driven method for translating customer requirements, the Voice of the Customer, into specific engineering and design characteristics using the House of Quality matrix. It is widely used in product development, Design for Six Sigma and service design.

Who should attend QFD training in Taiwan?

The training suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, R&D professionals and Six Sigma practitioners. It is open to anyone in Taiwan's electronics, semiconductor, medical device or manufacturing sectors who needs to turn customer needs into design specifications.

    Is QFD training worth it?

Yes. QFD is a practical, cross-industry skill you can apply the next working day, reducing design rework and keeping every design decision traceable to a customer need. In Taiwan's quality-focused manufacturing economy, that capability is highly valued by employers.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No. There are no prerequisites. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles, though familiarity with product development or quality management concepts is helpful but not required.

Does QFD apply to services as well as products?

Yes. Although QFD began in manufacturing, the House of Quality applies to healthcare, financial services, IT and software design too, anywhere customer needs must be translated into delivery specifications.

    Pricing

How much does QFD training cost in Taiwan?

Fees vary by delivery format, whether live virtual, classroom or corporate onsite, and by group size. Contact us for current pricing in your preferred format. Request a quote for the option that suits you.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes expert instructor-led training, hands-on House of Quality exercises, course materials and templates, learner support and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer group or corporate rates?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for product and quality teams. Ask about group pricing for your organisation.

Are payment or instalment options available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that works best for you.

Is there any additional cost beyond the training fee?

No. As a non-certification skills course, there is no examination or awarding-body fee. Your training fee covers the full one-day programme, exercises and materials.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for QFD training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This records your attendance and the skills gained; it is not a formal certification awarded by an external body.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. You demonstrate your skills by building and interpreting a House of Quality during practical exercises and team activities throughout the day.

Will I be able to use QFD at work immediately?

Yes. The course is designed for immediate application. You leave able to facilitate a Voice of the Customer session and build a House of Quality on your own products and processes.

Is QFD linked to any governing body or accreditation?

No. QFD is an established, vendor-neutral methodology with no single awarding body. The training is grounded in the recognised QFD body of knowledge and the House of Quality method developed by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD training cover?

The course covers QFD principles and origins, Voice of the Customer capture, the Kano model, building and interpreting the House of Quality, resolving design trade-offs, the four-phase QFD system, and QFD in Design for Six Sigma, DMAIC and services.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD matrix that maps customer requirements against engineering characteristics, scores their relationships, benchmarks competitors and sets design targets. Building and reading it is the core practical skill of the course.

How long is the QFD training?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours), and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers the full QFD methodology with hands-on House of Quality exercises throughout.

    Are practical exercises included?

Yes. You build a full House of Quality from a realistic scenario, run a Kano classification and calculate column importance, so you practise the method rather than only hearing about it.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware, House of Quality templates, worked examples and reference guides you can reuse on your own QFD projects after the training.
