    What is the format of the PMI-CP exam?

    The PMI-CP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions in single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center, and is based on the PMI-CP Examination Content Outline.

    How many questions are on the PMI-CP exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 120 questions and an allotted time of 230 minutes, which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. It is aligned to the current PMI-CP ECO and the PMBOK Guide.

    What are the four PMI-CP exam domains and their weights?

    The exam covers four domains: Contracts Management (50%), Stakeholder Engagement (30%), Strategy and Scope Management (15%) and Project Governance (5%). Contracts Management is by far the largest, reflecting the centrality of contract and claims work in construction.

    What is the passing score for the PMI-CP exam?

    PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback such as Above Target or Target, so aim for broad mastery across all four domains.

    What if I do not pass the PMI-CP exam the first time?

    You are allowed up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from application approval. Re-examination fees apply to later attempts. Our practice questions and mock exams are designed to help you prepare thoroughly for the first sitting.

    What are the four mandatory prerequisite modules?

    Before applying, all candidates complete four self-paced PMI modules in any order: Project Communications, Interface Management, Scope and Change Order Management, and Contract and Risk Management. Each is a 6 to 10 hour commitment and awards 14 PDUs, for 56 PDUs in total.

    Does this training meet the 35 contact hour requirement?

    The instructor-led program provides 32 contact hours, which is close to but below the 35 hours of project management education required for all three eligibility sets. Check with our team on whether supplementary self-study is credited toward the 35-hour requirement.

    Is the courseware aligned to the current ECO and PMBOK Guide?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current PMI-CP Examination Content Outline and the current PMBOK Guide, so you study the same domains, tasks and weightings that the exam assesses.

    Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

    Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the program, which support your PMI-CP application and certification renewal.

    What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-CP exam?

    You complete the four mandatory modules and meet one of three sets: a high school diploma with 60 months of construction PM experience; a bachelor's degree with 36 months; or a GAC-accredited degree with 24 months. All experience must fall within the past 10 years, plus 35 contact hours of PM education.
