The CAPM exam covers four domains from the 2023 CAPM Examination Content Outline: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%), and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%).

How many questions are on the CAPM exam and how long is it?

The CAPM exam has 150 questions and you have 3 hours (180 minutes) to complete it. It is closed book with single-answer and multiple-answer multiple-choice questions.

Where and how do I take the CAPM exam?

You take the CAPM exam through Pearson VUE, either via OnVUE online proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test center. You get up to three attempts within a one-year eligibility period.

Is there a fixed passing score for the CAPM?

No. PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score rather than a fixed percentage, so aim for broad mastery across the four CAPM domains. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level performance feedback.

What edition and standard is the CAPM exam based on?

The CAPM exam is based on the CAPM Examination Content Outline effective 2023 and is aligned to the PMBOK Guide Eighth Edition and the Agile Practice Guide.
