    Exam

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The CAPM exam covers four domains from the 2023 CAPM Examination Content Outline: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks/Methodologies (20%) and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%). Questions span predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.

How many questions are on the CAPM exam and how long is it?

The CAPM exam has 150 questions and a three-hour (180-minute) time limit. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice question formats, including single-answer and multiple-answer questions.

Is there a fixed passing score for CAPM?

PMI does not publish a fixed passing percentage. Your result is set through psychometric analysis and reported with performance feedback across the four CAPM domains, so aim for broad mastery of fundamentals, predictive methods, agile frameworks and business analysis rather than a target number.

Where can I take the CAPM exam?

You have up to three attempts within the one-year eligibility period from your application approval date. Our exam-focused practice and first-attempt guidance are designed to help you pass on your first try; reexamination fees apply to later attempts.
