Do I need work experience to take the CAPM?

No. CAPM is the only PMI practitioner credential that requires no project work experience. You need a secondary degree (high school diploma or global equivalent) and 23 hours of project management education, which this course provides.

How long is the CAPM certification valid?

The CAPM is valid for three years. Unlike the PMP, you renew it by retaking and passing the CAPM exam within the three-year cycle rather than by earning PDUs.

Is the CAPM recognized by employers?

Yes. As a PMI credential, CAPM carries global recognition through PMI's network in over 200 countries. Columbus employers across finance, insurance, healthcare and tech recognize it as a credible sign of project knowledge and commitment.

How much does CAPM training cost in Columbus?

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

What does the CAPM exam cover?

The exam covers four domains from the 2023 Examination Content Outline: Project Management Fundamentals and Core Concepts (36%), Predictive Plan-Based Methodologies (17%), Agile Frameworks and Methodologies (20%), and Business Analysis Frameworks (27%).

How many questions are on the CAPM exam and how long is it?

The CAPM exam has 150 questions and you have three hours (180 minutes) to complete it. It is a closed-book, multiple-choice exam with single-answer and multiple-answer formats.

Is there a fixed passing score for the CAPM?

No fixed percentage is published. PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score, and results are reported as pass or fail with performance feedback across the four CAPM domains, so aim for broad mastery of all four.

Where do I take the CAPM exam?

You can take it online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring from home or office, or at a Pearson VUE test center. Scheduling is done through Pearson VUE or the PMI portal after your application is approved.

What happens if I do not pass the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. A reexamination fee applies to the second and third attempts; our prep resources and mock exams are designed to help you pass the first time.

The training covers the four CAPM domains: project management fundamentals, predictive plan-based methodologies, agile frameworks and business analysis frameworks. You also work through practical tools, stakeholder engagement and performance measurement across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

Can a beginner with no experience take this course?

Yes. CAPM is an entry-level credential and the course assumes no prior project experience. Trainers build the fundamentals step by step, with practical examples and practice questions to support beginners.

Does the training satisfy the CAPM education requirement?

Yes. The program delivers 24 hours of instruction, which exceeds the 23 hours of project management education CAPM requires, so it fully satisfies the education prerequisite as an instructor-led CAPM course.

Which edition is the course based on?

The course is aligned to the current CAPM Examination Content Outline, effective 2023, and to the PMBOK Guide 8th edition and the Agile Practice Guide, so you learn predictive, agile and hybrid ways of working.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The program includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the 2023 CAPM ECO, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness.
