How many exams are there and are there prerequisites?

There are two separate exams. Foundation has no prerequisites and must be passed before the Practitioner exam, which requires Foundation certification or an accepted equivalent. You must pass both to hold both credentials.

    How are the exams delivered?

Both exams are delivered through online proctoring or at an authorised test centre, and are usually scheduled at the end of the relevant part of the training. Your trainer will guide you on booking and preparation.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the training?

The training covers five topic areas: Change and the Individual, Change and the Organisation, Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, Change Practice, and Personal and Professional Management. Foundation builds knowledge and Practitioner develops applied capability.

Which change models and standards does the course use?

The course is grounded in the Change Management Practitioner Guide and the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) from the Change Management Institute. You learn models including ADKAR, Kotter's 8-Step Model, Lewin's Three-Step Model, McKinsey 7-S, Bridges' Transition Model, Schein's culture model and Cialdini's principles of influence.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock exams for both Foundation and Practitioner, plus scenario exercises that build the open-book exam technique you need for the Practitioner paper.

How long is the training programme?

The combined programme is delivered as 40 hours of instructor-led training. The number of days depends on the schedule format, whether full-day intensive or extended half-day sessions, so you can choose what fits your availability.

Can a beginner follow the Practitioner content?

Yes. The programme is sequential, so Foundation builds the concepts you need before you move into applied Practitioner scenarios. With trainer guidance and practice, professionals new to change management can complete both levels.
