Skills You Will Master as a Product OwnerBuilt on Scrum Alliance Learning Objectives

This CSPO course builds the practical skills a product owner uses every day, from setting a product vision to managing the backlog and maximizing value. By the end, you can apply Scrum Alliance product ownership practices on a real Scrum Team.

    Define and Communicate Product Vision

Here is what you will gain in this CSPO course: learn to craft a clear product vision and Product Goal that act as the north star for the Scrum Team, and communicate them so stakeholders and developers stay aligned on where the product is heading.

Own and Order the Product Backlog

Build and refine the Product Backlog as the single source of truth for the team. Order items by value, risk and dependencies so the most valuable work is always near the top and ready to be pulled into a Sprint.

    Write Effective User Stories

Translate needs into clear user stories with strong acceptance criteria, using INVEST and story mapping to break epics into small, valuable, testable backlog items the team can actually build.

    Maximize Value with Every Increment

Apply Scrum's empirical approach to focus on outcomes over output. Define and measure value, make trade-offs, and ensure each increment moves the product toward its goal and the business toward results.

    Collaborate with Stakeholders

Identify and engage customers, users and sponsors, gather feedback through Sprint Reviews, and balance competing demands so product decisions are grounded in evidence rather than the loudest voice.

    Plan Releases and Forecast Delivery

Use velocity and backlog data to forecast releases, apply MVP and incremental delivery thinking, and communicate scope and timing honestly to stakeholders within Scrum's empirical framework.
