Skills You Will Build as a Product OwnerProduct Ownership You Can Apply Day One

What you will learn in CSPO is how to own a product end to end: set its direction, manage its backlog, engage stakeholders, and maximize the value it delivers. By the end of the program you can step into the product owner role with confidence.

    Product Vision and Product Goal

Skills covered in CSPO start here: craft a compelling product vision and set the product goal as the backlog commitment that guides every sprint. You will learn to communicate direction to stakeholders and connect long-term vision to delivery.

    Product Backlog Management

Create, refine, and order a product backlog as the single source of product work. You will write effective user stories with INVEST criteria, decompose epics, and order items by value, risk, and dependencies.

    Stakeholder Collaboration and Value

Identify stakeholders, gather needs, and use the sprint review to turn feedback into backlog updates. You will learn to define and measure value, favoring outcomes over outputs.

    The Product Owner Accountability

Understand the product owner's unique accountability for value within a Scrum team, how it differs from project and product management, and how to handle decision authority, scope pressure, and common anti-patterns.

    Release Planning and Forecasting

Plan releases in an empirical framework using velocity-based forecasting, MVP and MMF thinking, and incremental delivery, while communicating realistic timelines and scope to stakeholders.

    Scrum Theory for Product Owners

Apply empiricism, the three pillars of transparency, inspection, and adaptation, and the Scrum values to product decisions, so your product ownership holds up in complex, fast-moving environments.
