    Is there an exam or certification for this Jira course?

    No. This is a non-certification, skills-based course with no examination. You learn through live, hands-on Jira exercises and receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning on finishing the programme.

    Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

    Take Fundamentals if you are new to Jira and want core skills in projects, issues, boards and sprints. Take Advanced if you already use Jira and want workflow design, schemes, automation, JQL and administration. You can take either alone or both in sequence.

    Do I need prior Jira experience to join?

    For Fundamentals, no prior Jira experience is needed; basic familiarity with web applications is enough. For Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience.

    Do I have to pay Atlassian for Jira access to train?

    Not necessarily. Jira Cloud has a free tier for up to 10 users that is enough for hands-on practice. Confirm whether a shared training environment is provided when you enrol.

    How is learning assessed on this Jira course?

    There is no formal assessment or exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout the programme, so you practise each skill as you learn it.

    What do I receive on completion?

    You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. The skills are immediately applicable to Agile delivery and do not expire, so there is nothing to renew.

    Will this course make me a certified Jira professional?

    No. This is a practical skills course, not a certification, so no external credential or awarding body is involved. It builds genuine Jira proficiency you can apply at work straight away.

    Do I get hands-on practice during the training?

    Yes. You work in a live Jira environment throughout, following the trainer through realistic Agile delivery scenarios covering projects, boards, sprints, JQL, workflows and reporting.

    How long is each level of the training?

    Fundamentals runs over 2 days (16 hours) and Advanced over 3 days (24 hours). Both are available as full-day or extended half-day formats to suit your schedule.

    Course Content

    What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

    Fundamentals covers navigating Jira, creating Scrum, Kanban and Business projects, managing the Epic, Story, Task, Bug and Subtask hierarchy, running sprints and boards, roadmaps and versions, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports such as velocity and burndown.

    What topics does the Advanced level cover?

    Advanced covers custom workflow design with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission, notification, screen and field schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira automation, DevOps integrations and Jira administration.

    Does the course cover JQL?

    Yes. Fundamentals introduces basic JQL for filtering and reporting, and Advanced covers advanced JQL including ORDER BY, time-based functions and the CHANGED and WAS operators for historical queries.

    Does it cover Jira automation and integrations?

    Yes, at the Advanced level. You learn to build automation rules with triggers, conditions and actions, use smart values, and connect Jira to Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.

    Is the course based on Jira Cloud?

    Yes. The training uses a current Jira Cloud environment, which is Atlassian's primary delivery model. The skills also transfer to Jira Data Center for self-managed enterprise instances.
