What This Kanban Course Prepares You to DoUntitledA Practical Guide to Pull and Flow

Kanban Training in Croatia is a practical, one-day skills course that teaches you how to manage work with a visual, pull-based system instead of pushing tasks by schedule or forecast. Kanban began in the Toyota Production System, where Taiichi Ohno used signal cards to trigger production only when downstream demand called for it, and was later adapted by David J. Anderson for software, IT and service teams. The course covers both worlds. You learn manufacturing Kanban (production and withdrawal cards, supermarkets, kanban sizing and the six kanban rules) and knowledge-work Kanban (Kanban boards, work-in-progress limits, flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram). The result is a simple, repeatable way to make work visible, stop overloading your team and cut lead times. Whether you run a production line in Rijeka, a factory near Zagreb or an Agile delivery team in a Croatian tech firm, you leave able to design and run a Kanban system on your own workflow.

What You Gain from Learning KanbanFor Individuals and Teams

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Kanban training helps you turn a busy, overloaded workflow into a steady, predictable flow of finished work. You learn to visualise tasks, cap work in progress and use simple metrics to keep delivery moving. Whether you manage a production line, an IT service desk or a software team, the skills apply directly to how you work in Croatia's manufacturing, outsourcing and technology sectors.

By the end you can design a Kanban board or a manufacturing pull loop for your own team, set sensible WIP limits, and read a cumulative flow diagram to guide improvement. It is a capability you use from the first day back at work, no matter which tools your organisation runs.

    • Cut lead times by limiting work in progress and finishing what you start
    • Make workload visible so nothing stalls, hides or gets forgotten
    • Design manufacturing pull loops that remove overproduction and excess stock
    • Build Kanban boards that give your team one shared view of flow
    • Forecast delivery with lead time, cycle time and throughput data, not guesswork
    • Blend Kanban with Scrum as Scrumban to fit your current way of working
    • Spot and clear bottlenecks early, before they delay the whole system
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Group Kanban training gives your teams a common language for visualising work, limiting overload and improving flow. It suits production teams, PMOs, IT and software groups, and service delivery functions alike. For organisations connecting delivery to strategy, Kanban provides a lightweight, scalable way to lift throughput without adding headcount.

When a growing set of projects or a busy production line runs on push and firefighting, Kanban creates a shared, evidence-based approach to prioritisation, WIP and value delivery. Teams see the same board, respect the same limits, and improve from the same flow data.

    • Builds a shared, visual way of managing work across teams and departments
    • Reduces overload and multitasking so teams finish more of what they start
    • Removes overproduction and excess inventory on manufacturing lines
    • Improves delivery predictability with flow metrics and WIP limits
    • Standardises Lean and Agile flow practice across business units
    • Delivers customised training around your real workflows and tools
    • Scales across sites and teams with flexible, on-site or virtual delivery

What Is Driving Demand for Flow and Kanban Skills in Croatia

    ICT Talent Drain

Croatia loses around 1,200 ICT professionals a year to Germany, Austria and Ireland, so the teams that remain must deliver more with less. Pull systems and WIP limits keep flow steady under that pressure.

Kanban helps teams do more with fewer people

    Fast-Growing Software Sector

Zagreb's software sector is projected to grow 11-13% in 2026. Growing delivery teams need to scale flow and predictability without simply adding headcount, which is exactly what Kanban enables.

Kanban builds delivery predictability at scale

    Automotive and EV Manufacturing Scale-Up

Croatia's automotive and EV makers are expanding production. Manufacturing Kanban keeps just-in-time supply moving between process steps and stops overproduction and excess inventory.

Kanban removes overproduction on the line

    Nearshoring Pressure

As Western European firms nearshore work to Croatia, delivery teams must prove short and reliable lead times. Kanban flow metrics give that evidence in hard numbers.

Kanban evidences short, reliable lead times

    Digitisation Funding

EUR 78 million of NPOO funding for software and public-sector digitisation is creating project portfolios that need visible, well-managed workflows rather than hidden work and overload.

    Kanban makes project workflows visible

    Lean Maturity Gap

Many Croatian manufacturers apply Lean tools in isolation. Kanban ties them into a working pull system that controls work in progress, caps inventory and drives continuous improvement.

Skills You Will Build in This CoursePull Systems, Boards and Metrics

This Kanban course builds hands-on capability across both manufacturing pull systems and knowledge-work flow management. By the end you can design, run and improve a Kanban system on your own workflow.

Push vs Pull and the Kanban Signal

What you will learn in Kanban starts here: how a pull system uses signals to authorise work only when downstream demand calls for it, why overproduction is the worst waste, and how Kanban makes just-in-time work in practice.

    Manufacturing Kanban System Design

Design production and withdrawal kanban loops, size supermarkets, and calculate kanban quantities and card counts with the standard formula, so a production line pulls stock instead of pushing it.

    Kanban Boards and WIP Limits

Build a Kanban board with columns, swimlanes and classes of service, then set work-in-progress limits that stop overloading, expose bottlenecks and keep work flowing to done.

Flow Metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram

Measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, apply Little's Law, and read a cumulative flow diagram to see where work piles up and how to forecast delivery with data.

    Scrumban and Agile Delivery

Combine Kanban with Scrum to run Scrumban, manage demand and capacity with replenishment meetings, and use classes of service to handle urgent and standard work without disrupting flow.

    Implementing and Sustaining Kanban

Roll out Kanban with the start with what you do now approach in manufacturing or knowledge work, and keep it healthy by preventing WIP creep and driving continuous improvement.

    General

What is Kanban and who is this training for?

Kanban is a visual, pull-based way of managing work that authorises tasks only when there is real capacity or demand. This training suits production and operations managers, engineers, supply chain professionals, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, IT and software managers, and anyone who wants to improve how work flows.

Is Kanban only for software teams or also for manufacturing?

Both. The course covers manufacturing Kanban, which began in the Toyota Production System with production and withdrawal cards and supermarkets, and knowledge-work Kanban, adapted by David J. Anderson for software, IT and service teams using boards, WIP limits and flow metrics.

Do I need prior Lean or Agile experience to attend?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. The course introduces every Kanban concept from first principles, so beginners can follow along while experienced practitioners deepen their system-design skills. Some familiarity with production or delivery work is helpful but not required.

Is Kanban worth learning in Croatia's job market?

Yes. Croatia's growing IT services, outsourcing and manufacturing sectors value people who deliver predictably and cut waste. With the Zagreb software sector projected to grow and ICT talent tight, teams that manage flow well are in demand across the country.

What makes Invensis Learning's Kanban training different?

Invensis Learning is an ISO-certified global provider whose trainers bring real Lean and Agile delivery experience. Sessions are hands-on and built around your own workflows, so you design real Kanban boards or pull loops during the training rather than only reviewing theory.

    Pricing

How much does Kanban training cost in Croatia?

Pricing depends on the delivery format, whether you enrol individually or as a team, and group size. Because it varies, the current fee is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your needs.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, with instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you or your organisation.

Is training billed in euros for Croatia?

Yes. As Croatia uses the euro, training for learners and teams in Croatia is quoted in EUR. Request a quote and our team will confirm the current fee and any applicable taxes before you enrol.

    Assessment

Is the Kanban course assessed or is there a test?

There is no formal test. Learning is reinforced through hands-on design exercises, such as kanban sizing, board design and WIP setting, and through case discussion. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after the programme.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to explain push versus pull, design a manufacturing Kanban supermarket, calculate kanban quantities, build an Agile Kanban board with WIP limits and classes of service, measure lead time and throughput, read a cumulative flow diagram, and plan a Kanban rollout.

Do I get anything to show I completed the course?

Yes. Participants receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is a practical skills course, so the value is the working capability you build rather than a formal external qualification.

    How hands-on is the training?

Very. Exercises run throughout the day and include a push versus pull activity, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design for a manufacturing scenario, Kanban board design for a software or IT scenario, WIP limit setting, and cumulative flow diagram interpretation.

Can beginners keep up with the exercises?

Yes. Concepts are introduced step by step from first principles, and the trainer supports you through each exercise. Beginners and experienced practitioners work through the same realistic scenarios at a comfortable pace.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban training cover?

The programme spans Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing and implementation, knowledge-work Kanban boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban.

Does it cover both manufacturing and knowledge-work Kanban?

Yes. You learn manufacturing Kanban, including production and withdrawal cards, supermarkets, kanban sizing and the six kanban rules, and knowledge-work Kanban, including boards, WIP limits, flow metrics, Scrumban and Kanban within scaled Agile settings.

What is the difference between push and pull covered in the course?

Push means the upstream process produces to a schedule or forecast regardless of downstream readiness, which drives overproduction. Pull means work or material moves only when a downstream signal calls for it. Kanban is the mechanism that puts pull into practice.
