Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training is a one-day, non-certification skills course that teaches you to design new products, services and processes to reach Six Sigma quality levels from the start. It covers the DMADV roadmap and core tools including VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA and robust design.

    General

What is the Design for Six Sigma training?

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training is a one-day, non-certification skills course that teaches you to design new products, services and processes to reach Six Sigma quality levels from the start. It covers the DMADV roadmap and core tools including VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA and robust design.

Who should attend this DFSS course in Indonesia?

The course suits product design engineers, R&D professionals, quality engineers, new product development managers and Six Sigma practitioners. It is ideal for anyone in Indonesia's automotive, electronics, FMCG or manufacturing sectors who is involved in designing new products or processes.

Is Design for Six Sigma worth it for professionals in Indonesia?

Yes. As Indonesian manufacturers chase first-time quality and the Making Indonesia 4.0 agenda drives smarter production, design and NPD skills are in demand and scarce. DFSS makes you visible for design, R&D and process excellence roles that many DMAIC and QA practitioners cannot fill.

What is the difference between DFSS and DMAIC?

DMAIC improves existing processes that are underperforming, while DFSS designs new products, services or processes so they meet requirements from the outset. This course covers DFSS using the DMADV roadmap. Most organisations use both: DMAIC to improve what exists and DFSS to design what is new.

Do I need prior Six Sigma knowledge to attend?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. Familiarity with basic Six Sigma concepts such as CTQ and variation is helpful, but the course introduces all DFSS tools and the DMADV methodology from first principles, so newcomers and experienced practitioners both benefit.

    Pricing

How much does the DFSS training cost in Indonesia?

Pricing varies by delivery format, group size and whether the training is public or corporate, so the fee for Indonesia is available on request. Share your preferred format and team size and a learning advisor will provide a tailored quote.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee includes instructor-led sessions across all six DMADV phases, hands-on tool exercises in VOC, QFD, the Pugh matrix and Design FMEA, structured courseware and learner support. A course completion certificate from Invensis Learning is provided on finishing the programme.

Do you offer corporate or group pricing?

Yes. We offer group and corporate rates for teams, with schedules and content tailored to your products and sector. This is popular with engineering, R&D and quality teams training together. Ask about corporate or group pricing for a quote.

    What payment methods are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer flexible options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the method and plan that suit you or your organisation.

Is there a discount for enrolling a whole team?

Volume-based rates are available when you train several people together, and onsite delivery for a full team is often the most cost-effective option. Contact us with your team size for a tailored group quote.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the Design for Six Sigma training?

No. This is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on DFSS tool exercises, worked design case studies and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certification after the course?

No formal certification is awarded, as DFSS has no governing body or exam. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning that evidences the practical DFSS skills you have built.

How is learning checked during the training?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply DMADV tools to realistic product and process design scenarios throughout the day, so you practise VOC capture, CTQ flow-down, QFD, concept selection and Design FMEA hands-on as you learn them.

What will I be able to do after completing the training?

You will be able to run a DMADV design project, facilitate a VOC workshop, build a QFD House of Quality, use the Pugh matrix to select concepts, conduct a Design FMEA with RPN prioritisation, apply robust design and plan design verification and validation.

Is any prior experience required to take the course?

No prior experience or qualification is required. The course is open to all and introduces DFSS from the ground up, though people who already understand DMAIC often find the design counterpart especially valuable.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the DFSS training?

The course covers the full DFSS methodology: DFSS versus DMAIC, the DMADV roadmap, Voice of the Customer and the Kano model, CTQ flow-down and QFD, concept generation and the Pugh matrix, Design FMEA, robust design and the P-diagram, and design verification, validation and transfer.

    What is the DMADV roadmap?

DMADV stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Design and Verify. It is the most widely used DFSS framework and gives you a structured path to design a new product or process that meets customer requirements and reaches Six Sigma quality levels before launch.

Which DFSS tools will I practise?

You practise the core toolkit hands-on: VOC capture and the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, the QFD House of Quality, the Pugh concept selection matrix, Design FMEA with RPN, the P-diagram and robust design, and design verification methods, all applied to realistic design scenarios.

    How long is the training?

The programme runs for one day, a total of eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-day sessions. It covers all six DMADV phases with concept explanations, design case studies and hands-on tool exercises throughout.

Is the course suitable for people new to DFSS?

Yes. The course teaches every DFSS-specific tool and the DMADV methodology from first principles, so beginners can follow it comfortably while experienced Six Sigma practitioners gain the design counterpart to their DMAIC skills.
