What Is Kanban and How Does It Improve Flow?UntitledYour Route to Visual Workflow Management

Kanban training in India equips you with a visual, pull-based method for managing the flow of work, whether on a factory floor or across a software delivery team. Kanban (the Japanese word for signboard or visual signal) originated in the Toyota Production System, where Taiichi Ohno used it to authorise production only in response to real downstream demand, eliminating overproduction and excess inventory. This programme covers both manufacturing Kanban (production and withdrawal kanban, supermarkets, kanban sizing and Just-in-Time pull production) and knowledge-work Kanban, the recognised Agile approach formalised by David J. Anderson for software, IT and service teams using Kanban boards, work-in-progress limits and flow metrics. Suitable for production managers, operations leaders, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters and project managers, the one-day course builds skills you can apply immediately. Start your Kanban journey with Invensis Learning and bring measurable flow improvement to your organisation.

Why Kanban Skills Are Worth BuildingFor Professionals and Organisations

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Kanban training gives you a practical, visual way to manage the flow of work and remove the waste of overloading people or machines. You learn to make work visible, limit work in progress, and pull tasks only when there is real capacity, so teams finish more and start less. Whether you work in production, operations, IT, software delivery or services, the skills transfer directly to your day-to-day role. You will be able to design Kanban boards and manufacturing pull loops, size kanban quantities, and use lead time, cycle time and throughput to drive improvement.

This is hands-on learning, not theory. Through system design exercises you apply Kanban to realistic scenarios and leave able to improve flow in your own workplace. It is an ideal skill for anyone who wants to deliver more predictably without working longer hours.

Industry Challenges Driving Demand for Kanban Skills

    Too Much Work in Progress

Indian IT services and GCCs run hundreds of concurrent projects, and overloaded teams multitask and context-switch, the knowledge-work equivalent of overproduction that Kanban WIP limits are built to control.

Kanban builds WIP-limit and flow skills

    Long and Unpredictable Lead Times

Clients and boards want reliable delivery dates, but without flow metrics teams cannot forecast. Kanban lead time, cycle time and throughput make delivery predictable and evidence-based.

    Kanban builds flow-metrics skills

    Overproduction and Excess Inventory

Manufacturers and their suppliers still push production to schedule, tying up capital in inventory. Pull-based Kanban authorises work only on real demand, cutting overproduction at source.

    Kanban builds pull-system design skills

    Scaling Agile Beyond Basic Scrum

As GCCs move to adaptive operating models, teams need flow-based methods alongside Scrum. Kanban and Scrumban give distributed teams a way to manage work at scale.

Kanban builds Scrumban and flow skills

Hidden Bottlenecks in the Value Stream

Work stalls in stages nobody can see. Kanban boards and cumulative flow diagrams expose where work piles up, so managers fix the real constraint instead of adding pressure.

    Kanban builds bottleneck-visibility skills

Doing More with the Same Resources

Margin and capital discipline across IT and manufacturing push organisations to raise throughput without new headcount. Kanban improves flow using the capacity teams already have.

    General

What is the Kanban training and who is it for?

Kanban training is a one-day, non-certification skills course that teaches you how to manage the flow of work using a visual, pull-based system. It suits production and operations managers, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, IT and software managers, and project managers in India.

Is the Kanban training worth it?

Yes. Kanban is a practical, cross-industry skill that helps teams cut lead times, limit work in progress and deliver more predictably. Because it applies to both manufacturing pull systems and Agile knowledge work, the value transfers directly to your day-to-day role.

Do I need any prior experience to attend?

No. The course has no prerequisites and introduces every concept from first principles. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations is helpful for the manufacturing modules but is not required.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and Agile Kanban?

Yes. It covers manufacturing Kanban (kanban cards, supermarkets, sizing and Just-in-Time pull production) and knowledge-work Kanban (Kanban boards, WIP limits, flow metrics and Scrumban), so both audiences benefit.

How long is the Kanban training?

The programme runs for one day (eight hours) and can also be delivered as two half-days. It covers all six Kanban modules with hands-on system design exercises throughout.

    Pricing

How much does the Kanban training cost in India?

What do I receive on completion?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. No external credential is awarded, as this is a practical skills course focused on building capability rather than passing an exam.

Will I be able to apply Kanban straight away?

Yes. The course is built around applying Kanban to realistic scenarios. By the end you can design pull systems and Kanban boards, size kanban, set WIP limits and read flow metrics in your own workplace.

Does this course lead to a Kanban qualification?

No. This is a non-certification skills programme, not a qualification or credential. It builds practical Kanban knowledge and workplace skills, and you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban training cover?

The course spans six modules: Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban sizing and implementation, knowledge-work Kanban boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the cumulative flow diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban.

What is the difference between manufacturing and knowledge-work Kanban?

Manufacturing Kanban uses cards, supermarkets and Just-in-Time pull to control physical production. Knowledge-work Kanban uses boards, WIP limits and flow metrics to manage software, IT and service work. The course teaches both.

What are WIP limits and why do they matter?

Work-in-progress limits cap how many items can be in each stage at once. They force teams to finish work before starting more, expose bottlenecks and shorten lead times. Setting and adjusting WIP limits is a core part of the training.

    Are there hands-on exercises?

Yes. You practise push-versus-pull identification, kanban quantity calculation, kanban loop design, Kanban board design, WIP-limit setting and cumulative flow diagram interpretation on realistic scenarios.

    Does the course cover Scrumban?

Yes. The course explains how Kanban combines with Scrum as Scrumban, when it is appropriate, and how to use Kanban boards, WIP limits and flow metrics alongside Scrum in Agile delivery teams.
