What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and aligned to The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It covers the five performance domains using single-answer and multiple-answer questions.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The largest weighting sits on Program Life Cycle Management.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback such as Above Target or Target, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains rather than a single percentage.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?
