What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PgMP worth it for programme managers in Hyderabad?

Yes. PgMP is a distinctive senior credential, held by fewer than 3,000 practitioners worldwide, that maps to well-paid roles such as Program Director and Head of PMO. Is PMP required before taking the PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three PgMP eligibility sets, so PMP holders need only document their programme management experience.

How is the PgMP different from PMP and PfMP?

PMP validates managing individual projects. PgMP validates managing multiple related projects as a programme for strategic benefits, with more rigorous prerequisites and a panel review. PfMP is the next step up, for managing a portfolio of programmes and projects.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, within each three-year cycle.

What is included in the PgMP training fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support and a course completion certificate with contact hours. Request a quote for the full inclusions.

How much does PgMP training cost in Hyderabad?

Is the PMI exam fee included in the training price?

No. PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing (around USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members, for reference; verify current fees at pmi.org). PMI membership can reduce the exam fee.

What happens if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

You can take up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams, domain-wise practice and trainer guidance are designed to prepare you thoroughly before you sit.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP written exam has 170 multiple-choice questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is closed book and delivered online proctored through Pearson VUE OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). The exam is based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of programme management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback such as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

You can enrol in the training at any time. To sit the PgMP exam, PMI requires substantial experience under one of three eligibility sets, so the programme suits senior program managers, PMO leaders and PMP holders. We help you check eligibility before you apply.

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers all five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus guidance on the application, panel review and exam strategy.

Which standard is the courseware based on?

The courseware is aligned to PMI's PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. This 4th edition is the primary reference framework for the exam and the programme.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions, full-length mock exams and topic-wise quizzes mapped to the exam domains, so you can identify weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question exam.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the programme, which support your PgMP application and PMI renewal.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PgMP exam?

PMI offers three sets. With a four-year degree you need 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus 48 months of programme management experience; with a secondary diploma the programme requirement rises to 84 months. All experience must be within the last 15 years.

What training formats are available?
