Why Project Risk Skills Are in Demand in Pune

Risk Governance Gaps in IT and GCCs

Pune's Hinjewadi corridor runs hundreds of concurrent client and product programmes, yet many teams lack a formal project risk layer, the exact gap RMP-certified specialists are trained to close.

RMP builds risk strategy and governance skills

Programme Risk in Automotive and Engineering

As an automotive and engineering hub, Pune runs complex, high-capital projects where structured risk identification, analysis and response protect budgets and delivery timelines.

RMP builds analysis and response skills

    BFSI Regulatory and Risk-Tech Pressure

Banking and financial services teams face rising regulatory, cyber and delivery risk, driving demand for professionals who can identify, analyse and respond to project risk with rigour.

    RMP builds disciplined risk practice

    Shortage of Certified Risk Specialists

Pune has a deep pool of project managers but far fewer credentialed risk specialists. The RMP's prerequisites and specialist focus make certified holders rare and sought-after.

RMP makes certified specialists stand out

    Digital Transformation Uncertainty

Cloud, data and AI programmes carry high uncertainty, and boards want risk leaders who can protect value across agile and hybrid delivery, not just track open issues.

RMP builds agile and hybrid risk skills

    Capital Discipline and Cost Overruns

Margin pressure across IT services and manufacturing pushes organisations to control project risk, avoid overruns and rebalance investment toward higher-value work.

It validates your ability to identify, analyse, respond to and monitor project risk across predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

Yes. Pune's IT, automotive, BFSI and engineering employers increasingly hire for dedicated risk skills, and risk manager roles in the city average around 19 lakh per year. Certification can add a reported 20 to 30 percent pay uplift and sets you apart from general project managers.

No. The PMP is not a prerequisite for the RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education, though many RMP holders also hold the PMP, as the two credentials are complementary.

The Project Management Institute (PMI) awards the RMP. The exam is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

The RMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle, reported through PMI's CCR system.

    Pricing

What is included in the RMP training fee in Pune?

The training fee includes PMI-aligned courseware, coverage of all five risk domains, practice questions, mock exams and guidance on the PMI application. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI. Request a quote for current batch pricing.

How much does the RMP exam cost?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 520 for members and USD 670 for non-members; fees vary by region, so confirm current rates at pmi.org. PMI membership (about USD 139 per year) reduces the exam fee and gives free access to the Practice Standard for Project Risk Management.

    What payment options are available?

What is the passing score for the exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. Results are determined psychometrically and reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement by domain, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.
