The PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) is PMI's specialist credential in project risk management, recognising your ability to identify and assess risks, mitigate threats and capitalise on opportunities. It is designed for project risk managers, senior project managers, risk consultants and PMO risk analysts who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

It is designed for project risk managers, senior project managers, risk consultants and PMO risk analysts who specialise in risk on projects and programmes.

Yes. Mumbai's BFSI, consulting and infrastructure employers increasingly need certified risk specialists, and credentialed talent is scarce against a deep general project pool. Certified risk professionals report a pay premium of around 14 percent over non-certified peers. Talk to a learning advisor about your goals.

No. PMP is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your project risk management experience and education. Many RMP holders also hold PMP, as the two credentials are complementary, but it is not required.

The PMI-RMP is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline (ECO), effective January 2022, and aligned to PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the PMBOK Guide. The January 2022 outline covers risk management across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle and pay the renewal fee.

Yes. As a PMI credential, the RMP is recognised by employers worldwide. It is particularly valued in high-risk sectors such as financial services, construction, energy and consulting, where structured project risk management is often contractually or regulatorily required.

    Pricing

What is included in the PMI-RMP course fee?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, 32 contact hours of instruction, practice questions, mock exams, downloadable templates, application guidance and learner support, plus a course completion certificate. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI.

    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is closed book and uses multiple-choice questions, including single-answer and multiple-answer formats. It is delivered via Pearson VUE, either online proctored through OnVUE or at a Pearson VUE test centre, and is based on the January 2022 exam content outline.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. Some items are unscored pretest questions, and results are reported with domain-level performance feedback.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

The exam covers five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass on the first attempt?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our mock exams and retake support help you close gaps before you sit again.

    Course Content

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the PMI-RMP exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education under one of three sets, so the course also guides you on documenting your experience for the application.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks, along with qualitative and quantitative tools such as probability-impact matrices, Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees and expected monetary value.

Does this training satisfy the PMI education requirement?

The programme provides 32 contact hours, which fully satisfies the 30-hour education requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree) candidates. Set A candidates need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of risk management education.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PMI-RMP ECO and Handbook, practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator, downloadable templates, and topic-wise quizzes to support your revision and readiness.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest exam outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022, and to PMI's Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the PMBOK Guide, covering predictive, agile and hybrid approaches.
