What Is Quality Function Deployment Training in Italy?UntitledYour Customer-Driven Design Skillset

Quality Function Deployment Training in Italy is a one-day, instructor-led course that teaches the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology and the House of Quality matrix used to translate the Voice of the Customer into precise engineering and design specifications. It is a practical skills programme, not an examination, so you spend the day building real matrices you can use at work. QFD was developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno, with its first formal application at the Mitsubishi Kobe Shipyard in 1972. Today the House of Quality and the four-phase QFD cascade, from Product Planning through Parts Deployment, Process Planning and Production Planning, are standard tools in automotive, aerospace, machinery, healthcare and software design. The course sits within the wider quality management and Design for Six Sigma discipline; there is no external awarding body, and you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Ideal for design engineers, quality engineers, product managers, R&D professionals and Six Sigma practitioners in Italy, the training moves you from intuition-led design to structured, customer-driven decisions. Start building customer-driven quality into your products with Invensis Learning.

The Skills You Will BuildWith the House of Quality

This programme takes you from the principles of QFD to a working House of Quality you can apply on real projects. By the end of the day you can capture customer requirements, build the matrix, resolve conflicts and cascade the analysis through the full QFD system.

Capture the Voice of the Customer

Skills covered in QFD start here: collect, segment and structure customer requirements using interviews, observation and the affinity diagram, then organise them into a clear primary, secondary and tertiary hierarchy ready for the House of Quality.

    Prioritise with the Kano Model

Classify requirements as must-be, performance and delighter needs, and apply importance weighting so design investment goes to the characteristics that genuinely drive customer satisfaction.

Build a Complete House of Quality

Construct all six rooms step by step: customer requirements, engineering characteristics, the relationship matrix, the correlation roof, competitive benchmarking and engineering targets, using realistic product and service examples.

Resolve Design Conflicts in the Roof

Read the correlation matrix to spot design hot spots and conflicting characteristics early, then make deliberate trade-off decisions before costly prototype testing reveals them.

    Cascade QFD Through Four Phases

Carry customer requirements from Product Planning into Parts Deployment, Process Planning and Production Planning, keeping full traceability from every customer need to the controls on the shop floor.

Apply QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and Services

Use QFD in the DMADV Measure phase and the DMAIC Define phase, and extend the House of Quality to service, healthcare and software design where customer requirements still drive delivery.

Yes. QFD is a practical, transferable skill valued across Italy's automotive, machinery, aerospace, electronics and healthcare sectors. As manufacturers modernise under Transizione 5.0, professionals who can build customer-driven quality into design stand out on product, quality and R&D teams.

The course suits design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, NPD project managers, and Six Sigma Green and Black Belt practitioners. Anyone who needs to translate customer requirements into product or service specifications will benefit.

No. There are no formal prerequisites. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development or quality management helps but is not required, so beginners and experienced professionals both fit well.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment Training?

Quality Function Deployment Training is a one-day, instructor-led skills course on the QFD methodology and the House of Quality. It teaches you to capture the Voice of the Customer, translate customer requirements into engineering characteristics, resolve design conflicts and cascade the analysis through the four-phase QFD system.

Is QFD training worth it for my career in Italy?

Yes. QFD is a practical, transferable skill valued across Italy's automotive, machinery, aerospace, electronics and healthcare sectors. As manufacturers modernise under Transizione 5.0, professionals who can build customer-driven quality into design stand out on product, quality and R&D teams.

Who should attend the QFD course?

The course suits design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, NPD project managers, and Six Sigma Green and Black Belt practitioners. Anyone who needs to translate customer requirements into product or service specifications will benefit.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

No. There are no formal prerequisites. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development or quality management helps but is not required, so beginners and experienced professionals both fit well.

Why choose Invensis Learning for QFD training in Italy?

Invensis Learning offers experienced trainers, hands-on House of Quality exercises, and flexible live virtual, classroom and corporate formats, backed by ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022 certified operations. You leave able to run a QFD session on your own product.

    Pricing

How much does QFD training cost in Italy?

Fees vary by delivery mode, group size and format, so pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for current individual and corporate rates and to find the option that fits your goals. Request a quote to get started.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led delivery of all six QFD modules, hands-on House of Quality exercises, practical templates and case studies, learner support, and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Ask us for the full inclusions on your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with tailored schedules and volume-based pricing for product, engineering and quality teams. Building a House of Quality on one of your own products makes group training especially valuable. Ask about corporate pricing for a tailored quote.

    Are there payment options available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options are available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the arrangement that suits you.

Is this training good value for teams?

Yes. When a cross-functional team trains together and builds a House of Quality on a live product, the organisation gains an immediately usable output plus a shared, customer-driven design language, which often pays back quickly through reduced rework and faster launches.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the QFD course?

No. This is a non-certification skills programme with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the one-day course.

Do I get a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. No formal certification or credential is awarded by an external body, because QFD is a methodology rather than a certified qualification. The skills apply immediately and do not expire.

How is my learning assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you practise throughout the day by building and interpreting your own House of Quality matrices, structuring Voice of the Customer data, and working through Kano classification and column importance exercises.

Is QFD linked to any governing body or standard?

QFD has no single awarding body. It sits within the wider quality management and Design for Six Sigma discipline and links to frameworks such as ISO 9001 design and development, APQP, DMADV and the Kano model. The course grounds you in the recognised QFD body of knowledge.

Will this help with my Six Sigma projects?

Yes. QFD is a core tool in the DFSS DMADV Measure phase and the DMAIC Define phase. The course gives Green and Black Belt practitioners the depth of QFD knowledge needed to translate the Voice of the Customer into CTQs and project scope.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the QFD training?

You will learn to capture and structure the Voice of the Customer, apply the Kano model, build all six rooms of the House of Quality, calculate column importance, resolve design conflicts in the correlation roof, and cascade QFD through Parts Deployment, Process Planning and Production Planning.

What topics does the House of Quality cover?

The House of Quality covers customer requirements and importance ratings, measurable engineering characteristics, the relationship matrix, the correlation roof, competitive technical benchmarking, and engineering targets. You build each room step by step on realistic product and service examples.

Does the course include hands-on practice?

Yes. Hands-on exercises run throughout the day. You structure Voice of the Customer data with an affinity diagram, classify requirements with the Kano model, construct a full House of Quality, and identify design hot spots and conflicts from a realistic scenario.

Does QFD apply to services and software, not just products?

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the course covers its use in services such as healthcare and financial services, and in software design. The House of Quality applies anywhere customer requirements must be translated into design or delivery specifications.

How long is the QFD training?

The programme runs for one day, totalling eight hours. It can also be delivered as two extended half-days. It covers all six QFD modules, from foundations and Voice of the Customer through House of Quality construction, interpretation, four-phase cascading and real-world case studies.

How do I enrol in the QFD course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete your booking, and you receive joining details, schedules and learning resources. Talk to a learning advisor if you would like help choosing a batch.

What delivery formats are available in Italy?

We offer instructor-led training online, in the classroom, and as corporate on-site sessions for teams. Online delivery runs live virtual with a trainer, so you get real-time interaction wherever you are in Italy. Choose the format that fits your schedule.

    How soon can I start?

Public sessions run on a regular schedule, and corporate sessions are arranged around your team's availability. See upcoming schedules or contact a learning advisor to confirm the next available date that suits you.

Can you run the course on-site for our team?
