What Are the 7 QC Tools?UntitledA Practical Toolkit for Jamaican Quality Teams

The 7 QC Tools training in Jamaica is a practical, one-day programme that teaches the seven quality control (QC) tools every quality professional uses to find and fix problems at work. Identified by Kaoru Ishikawa in the 1960s, these tools are the Cause-and-Effect (Fishbone) Diagram, Check Sheet, Control Chart, Histogram, Pareto Chart, Scatter Diagram and Stratification or Flow Chart. You learn how each tool works, when to use it, and how they combine into one problem-solving workflow, from collecting reliable data to pinpointing root causes and sustaining improvement. The methods sit at the heart of ISO 9001:2015, Six Sigma DMAIC, Lean and Total Quality Management, so the skills apply across manufacturing, food and beverage, BPO, pharmaceuticals and services. This is a hands-on skills course, not an examination, with no formal prerequisites. You practise every tool during the session and receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. For quality teams in Kingston and across the island, it is a fast, confident way to raise product quality and reduce costly defects.

What Is Driving Demand for QC Skills in Jamaica

    Meeting Bureau of Standards Requirements

Manufacturers must conform to BSJ certification marks and export standards. The seven QC tools give teams the data-driven methods to prove consistent product quality and pass audits.

QC tools give teams audit-ready quality evidence

    Reducing Costly Defects and Rework

Rising input costs mean defects and rework hit margins hard. Pareto and fishbone analysis help teams focus on the vital few causes that drive most quality losses.

Pareto and fishbone target the vital few causes

    Exporting to Demanding Markets

Jamaica's exports are growing near 17% a year toward US$2B, and overseas buyers expect documented quality control. Control charts and check sheets provide that evidence.

SPC and check sheets document quality for buyers

Raising Quality in BPO and Services

With 44,000+ agents across 87+ ICT/BPO firms, service quality wins and keeps contracts. The seven tools turn call and process data into measurable improvement.

A Shortage of Data-Driven Problem Solvers

Many teams still fix problems by guesswork. Employers need people who can read a control chart and separate real signals from normal process variation.

The Seven QC Tools You Will MasterHands-On Skills You Apply from Day One

In this 7 QC Tools training you will learn to apply all seven quality control tools to real problems: collecting reliable data, finding root causes, controlling variation and driving measurable improvement. Each tool is taught with worked examples and hands-on practice.

Build Fishbone Diagrams for Root Cause

Map the real causes of a defect using the Cause-and-Effect (Ishikawa) diagram and the 6M framework, then drill down to true root causes with your team.

Design Check Sheets That Capture Clean Data

Create simple, reliable data-collection forms that record defects at the source and feed every other quality tool with trustworthy numbers.

Read and Use Control Charts for SPC

Apply statistical process control to tell normal variation from real signals, so you act on genuine problems instead of tampering with a stable process.

    Interpret Histograms and Distribution

Use histograms to see the shape, spread and central tendency of process data, and judge at a glance whether output is meeting specification.

Apply Pareto Analysis and the 80/20 Rule

Rank causes with a Pareto chart to focus effort on the vital few problems that drive most of your defects, complaints or cost.

    Test Relationships with Scatter Diagrams

Plot two variables to check whether a suspected cause really drives an outcome, while avoiding the correlation-versus-causation trap.

    Use Stratification and Flow Charts

Separate data by machine, shift or line to reveal hidden patterns, and map processes with flow charts to expose bottlenecks and rework loops.

Choose and Combine the Right Tool

Know when to use each tool and how they work together in one workflow, from check sheet to Pareto to fishbone to control chart.
