The path to Online PMI-ACP certification follows a streamlined exam-based process. After completing the required training and obtaining PMI approval, candidates proceed directly to the certification examination administered through Pearson VUE. Unlike some senior PMI credentials, PMI-ACP does not require a peer-panel review. Most candidates complete the journey from training to certification within 6–10 weeks, depending on preparation time and application processing.

Is PMI-ACP recognised internationally?

Yes. PMI is a globally recognised professional body with members in over 200 countries, and PMI-ACP is valued by employers worldwide as a rigorous, experience-backed agile credential, including across Kenya and the wider region.

How long is the PMI-ACP certification valid?

PMI-ACP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 30 professional development units (PDUs) in agile topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements (CCR) cycle.

What standard is the PMI-ACP exam based on?

The exam is based on the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline (ECO) published in January 2018, which remains the current outline, together with the Agile Practice Guide and recognised agile literature.

How much does PMI-ACP training cost in Kenya?

PMI-ACP training fees vary by format and provider and are available on request. The PMI exam fee is billed separately in USD under member and non-member rates. Request a quote for current pricing on live online and corporate options.

What is included in the PMI-ACP course fee?

The fee typically includes 24 contact hours of instructor-led training, PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, application guidance and a course completion certificate. The exam fee and PMI membership are separate.

How much is the PMI-ACP exam fee?

For reference, PMI charges around USD 435 for members and USD 495 for non-members; confirm current fees at pmi.org. PMI membership (about USD 139 per year) can reduce the exam cost and unlocks free resources such as the Agile Practice Guide.

What is the format of the PMI-ACP exam?

The PMI-ACP exam is closed book with 120 multiple-choice questions across seven agile domains. You have three hours to complete it, and results are reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement by domain.

How many questions are on the PMI-ACP exam?

The exam has 120 multiple-choice questions and a three-hour time limit. Questions are distributed across the seven domains of the Examination Content Outline.

What are the eligibility requirements for PMI-ACP?

You need a secondary degree, 2,000 hours of general project experience in the last five years, 1,500 hours of agile experience in the last three years, and 21 contact hours of agile training. PMP or PgMP holders already meet the general experience requirement.

What is the passing score for the PMI-ACP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score and does not publish a fixed percentage. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all seven domains.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. A re-examination fee applies to the second and third attempts. Our exam prep, practice questions and mock exams are designed to help you sit the exam ready.

Where can I take the PMI-ACP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website.

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

You can join the training at any experience level, though the PMI-ACP credential itself requires agile and project experience. The programme is structured to support both newer practitioners and experienced agile professionals preparing for the exam.

What topics does the PMI-ACP training cover?

The training covers all seven ECO domains: agile principles and mindset, value-driven delivery, stakeholder engagement, team performance, adaptive planning, problem detection and resolution, and continuous improvement, plus exam strategy.

How many contact hours does the training provide?

The programme delivers 24 contact hours of instructor-led agile training, which exceeds and fully satisfies PMI's 21 contact hour education prerequisite for the PMI-ACP application.

What learning resources are included?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions aligned to the 120-question format, full-length mock exams, coverage of agile tools and techniques, and guidance for documenting your experience on the PMI application.

Is the courseware aligned to the current PMI-ACP outline?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-ACP Examination Content Outline (January 2018) and the Agile Practice Guide, so you prepare against the outline PMI currently tests.
