What Is Kanban Training in the Netherlands?UntitledVisual Workflow, Made Practical

Kanban training in the Netherlands is a practical, non-certification programme that teaches you how to manage the flow of work using a visual, pull-based system. Kanban began in the Toyota Production System, where Taiichi Ohno used simple signals to trigger production only when downstream demand called for it, and it was later formalised for knowledge work by David J. Anderson. Over a focused one-day programme, you learn both sides of the method: manufacturing Kanban, with production and withdrawal signals, supermarkets and kanban sizing, and knowledge work Kanban, with boards, work-in-progress limits and flow metrics. It suits production and operations managers, supply chain professionals, Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, and IT and delivery leads across Dutch industry. With the Netherlands' high-tech manufacturing base and fast-growing technology sector, teams that can visualise work, limit overload and cut lead times are in real demand. This training gives you those skills and the confidence to apply them from day one.

What Is Driving Demand for Kanban Skills in the Netherlands

    Semiconductor Demand Straining Production Flow

ASML's growth and its Dutch supply chain push high-tech factories to smooth production flow, cap work in progress and pull to real demand, the core of manufacturing Kanban.

    Kanban builds pull-based production skills

Delivery Overload in a Booming Tech Sector

With over 11,000 tech companies, Dutch teams juggle more work than they can finish. WIP limits and visual boards are how they cut multitasking and shorten lead times.

Kanban builds WIP and flow skills

    Unpredictable Delivery Dates

Boards and stakeholders want reliable forecasts, not guesswork. Flow metrics such as lead time and throughput give teams evidence-based delivery predictions.

    Kanban builds flow-metric skills

    Scrum Teams Hitting Flow Limits

Many Dutch Agile teams run Scrum but struggle with flow between sprints. Scrumban blends Kanban's WIP limits and flow view with an existing cadence.

    Kanban builds Scrumban skills

    Inventory and Overproduction Pressure

Automotive and electronics suppliers face margin and capital pressure. Pull-based kanban systems reduce overproduction, inventory and waste across the line.

    Kanban builds pull-system design skills

    Scarce Flow and Improvement Talent

Employers need people who can design pull systems and read a Cumulative Flow Diagram. These practical flow skills remain in short supply across Dutch industry.

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Kanban training is a practical, non-certification course that teaches you how to manage the flow of work using a visual, pull-based system. It covers both manufacturing Kanban, with kanban cards, supermarkets and pull production, and knowledge work Kanban, with boards, work-in-progress limits and flow metrics.

    General

    What is Kanban training?

Kanban training is a practical, non-certification course that teaches you how to manage the flow of work using a visual, pull-based system. It covers both manufacturing Kanban, with kanban cards, supermarkets and pull production, and knowledge work Kanban, with boards, work-in-progress limits and flow metrics.

    Is Kanban training worth it?

Yes. Kanban skills help you cut lead times, reduce overload and deliver more predictably, which is exactly what Dutch high-tech and services employers value. The training opens roles from Scrum Master and Delivery Manager to Operations Manager and Agile Coach across the Netherlands.

Who should attend Kanban training in the Netherlands?

The course suits production and operations managers, manufacturing and industrial engineers, supply chain professionals, Scrum Masters, Agile coaches, IT and software delivery managers, and anyone responsible for how work flows through a production or service process.

Do I need any prior experience to learn Kanban?

No. There are no prerequisites. The course introduces Kanban from first principles, so beginners are welcome. Some familiarity with Lean or production operations helps for the manufacturing modules but is not required.

    Where did Kanban come from?

Manufacturing Kanban was developed by Taiichi Ohno at Toyota in the 1950s as part of the Toyota Production System, inspired by supermarket replenishment. Knowledge work Kanban was later formalised by David J. Anderson for software, IT and service teams.

    Pricing

How much does Kanban training cost in the Netherlands?

Fees vary by delivery format, group size and schedule, so pricing is available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote in euros for individual or group training.

What is included in the Kanban course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led training, structured courseware covering manufacturing and knowledge work Kanban, hands-on design exercises, case examples, learner support and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

Do you offer group or corporate discounts?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for production teams, IT groups and cross-functional units. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

Are there payment or instalment options?

Yes. We accept major cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you.

Is there any separate exam or certification fee?

No. Kanban training is a non-certification course, so there is no exam and no separate certification fee. You pay only the training fee and receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for Kanban training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no exam. Learning is reinforced through hands-on Kanban design exercises, case examples and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I get a certificate after Kanban training?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. No formal external credential is awarded, because Kanban training builds practical skills rather than preparing you for a certification exam.

How is learning checked during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply the concepts through practical exercises such as kanban quantity calculation, pull-loop design, board design, WIP limit setting and Cumulative Flow Diagram interpretation.

Is Kanban a certification or a skills course?

It is a skills course. Kanban is a visual workflow method rather than a credential, so the training focuses on designing, implementing and improving Kanban systems you can use straight away at work.

What can I do after completing the training?

You will be able to design and run a Kanban board, set WIP limits, build and size manufacturing pull systems, measure lead time, cycle time and throughput, read a Cumulative Flow Diagram, and apply Scrumban with Scrum teams.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kanban training cover?

The course covers Kanban origins and pull production, manufacturing Kanban types and mechanics, kanban system sizing and implementation, knowledge work boards and WIP limits, flow metrics and the Cumulative Flow Diagram, and implementing and sustaining Kanban.

Does the course cover both manufacturing and Agile Kanban?

Yes. It covers manufacturing Kanban from the Toyota Production System, including cards, supermarkets and JIT pull, and Agile Kanban for software, IT and services, including boards, WIP limits, flow metrics, Scrumban and Kanban in SAFe.

Can a complete beginner take this course?

Yes. The course starts from first principles and needs no prior Kanban knowledge. Concepts are introduced step by step and reinforced with guided, hands-on exercises throughout the day.

    What hands-on exercises are included?

You practise push versus pull identification, kanban quantity calculation, pull-loop design for a manufacturing scenario, Kanban board design for an IT scenario, WIP limit setting and Cumulative Flow Diagram interpretation.

Can you deliver Kanban training onsite for our team?

Yes. Corporate onsite delivery is available across the Netherlands, and teams can design Kanban systems for their own real workflows during the exercises. Contact us to arrange a session and a group quote.

    How soon can I start?

New public sessions run regularly, and corporate sessions are scheduled around your team's availability. See upcoming schedules or speak with a learning advisor to find the next suitable date.

What is the refund or reschedule policy?

Refunds and reschedules are handled per our published policy, and flexi options let you move to another batch on selected plans. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
