What Is Oracle Primavera P6 Training and Who Is It For?UntitledBuilt Around Real Project Scheduling

Oracle Primavera P6 Training in New Zealand is a practical, hands-on programme that teaches you to plan, schedule, resource-load and control complex projects using Oracle Primavera P6 (P6), the enterprise project portfolio management (EPPM) software developed by Oracle Corporation and the global standard for scheduling on large capital projects. The course is delivered at two levels. Fundamentals (2 days, 16 hours) builds core skills in the enterprise project structure, activity scheduling, relationships, the critical path, resource assignment, baselines and progress tracking. Advanced (3 days, 24 hours) extends your capability to resource and cost loading, earned value management, Claim Digger schedule comparison, multi-project programme control and custom reporting. Every module is taught with live P6 exercises using realistic construction and engineering scenarios. Across New Zealand, planners, schedulers and project controls engineers in construction, infrastructure, energy and utilities use P6 as a contractual standard on major projects. This is a non-certification skills course, so there is no formal test, and you receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning that recognises practical P6 proficiency you can apply from day one.

    General

What is Oracle Primavera P6 training?

Oracle Primavera P6 training is a practical, hands-on course that teaches you to plan, schedule, resource-load and control projects using Oracle Primavera P6, the enterprise project portfolio management software from Oracle Corporation. It is delivered at Fundamentals and Advanced levels with live P6 exercises.

Who should attend Primavera P6 training?

The training suits project planners, schedulers, project controls engineers, project and programme managers, and cost engineers who plan or control projects. It is ideal for professionals in construction, infrastructure, energy and engineering who need to work in P6.

Should I take the Fundamentals or Advanced level?

Take Fundamentals if you are new to Primavera P6 or use it occasionally and want a solid foundation. Take Advanced if you already use P6 and want to master resource and cost loading, earned value management, Claim Digger and multi-project control. Both levels can be attended in sequence.

Do I need prior experience to learn Primavera P6?

No prior experience is needed for the Fundamentals level. Basic familiarity with project concepts such as activities, schedules and resources is helpful but not required. The Advanced level assumes you have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on P6 experience.

Is Primavera P6 worth learning in New Zealand?

Yes. Primavera P6 is the scheduling standard on major New Zealand transport, water, energy and construction projects, and planners and project controls professionals are in strong demand as the infrastructure pipeline grows. P6 skills open roles across the sector. Talk to a learning advisor to plan your path.

    Pricing

How much does Primavera P6 training cost in New Zealand?

Pricing depends on the level you choose, the delivery format and whether you train as an individual or a group, so a current quote is available on request. Request a quote and we will confirm the fee for your preferred Fundamentals or Advanced schedule.

What is included in the Primavera P6 course fee?

The fee typically includes instructor-led sessions, hands-on P6 exercises, course materials, practical scenarios and a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning. Ask a learning advisor for the exact inclusions on your chosen format.

Do I need an Oracle Primavera P6 licence for the training?

    Assessment

How is learning measured on the Primavera P6 course?

Learning is reinforced through hands-on Primavera P6 exercises using realistic project scenarios throughout both levels. There is no formal test, and you build proficiency by working in P6 alongside the instructor.

Do I receive anything on completing the course?

Yes. On completing each level you receive a Course Completion Certificate from Invensis Learning that recognises the practical Primavera P6 skills you have built. This is a skills course, not a credential awarded by an external body.

Will I be job-ready in Primavera P6 after the training?

Yes. The training focuses on practical, job-ready skills, so you can build, schedule, resource-load and control P6 schedules immediately. The exercises mirror the way P6 is used on real construction and engineering projects.

What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

After Fundamentals you can navigate P6, set up the enterprise project structure, build an activity list, create relationships, run the scheduler, interpret the critical path and float, assign resources, set a baseline and track progress with layouts and reports.

What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

After Advanced you can resource-load and cost-load a schedule, apply earned value management, use Claim Digger to compare schedules, manage multiple projects, build custom reports and export P6 data to Excel for management and contract reporting.
