    What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

    The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination with single-answer and multiple-answer questions. It is based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and covers five risk management domains.

    How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). You can sit it via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

    What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

    There are five domains in the January 2022 outline: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

    What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. Results are determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    You are allowed up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Our mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you prepare thoroughly and reduce the risk of a resit.

    What will I learn in the PMI-RMP training?

    You will learn to plan a risk strategy, identify threats and opportunities, run qualitative and quantitative analysis, plan and implement responses, and monitor and close risks. The training covers predictive, agile and hybrid delivery in line with the current outline.

    Do I need prior experience to take the course?

    Anyone can attend the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and risk education, which varies by your education level. Beginners in a risk role are welcome, as the programme builds concepts step by step.

    Are practice questions and mock exams included?

    Yes. The programme includes practice questions and full-length mock exams mapped to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline, so you can find weak areas and build exam readiness across all five domains.

    Is the courseware aligned to the current PMI-RMP outline?

    Yes. The courseware is aligned to the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022 and draws on the PMI Practice Standard for Project Risk Management and the PMBOK Guide.

    Does the training meet the PMI education requirement?

    The programme provides 32 contact hours, which fully satisfies the 30-hour risk education requirement for Set B and Set C applicants. Set A applicants need 40 hours and should add at least 8 more hours of risk training.

    PMI offers three sets: Set A needs a secondary diploma plus 36 months of risk experience and 40 hours of education; Set B needs a bachelor's degree plus 24 months and 30 hours; Set C needs a GAC-accredited degree plus 12 months and 30 hours, all within the past five years.
