    What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

    The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination with single-answer and multiple-answer questions. It is based on the current PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline, effective January 2022, and delivered online proctored via Pearson VUE OnVUE or at a test centre.

    How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

    The exam has 115 questions and a total time of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). Questions are distributed across the five risk management domains defined in the exam content outline.

    What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

    There are five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%), per the January 2022 exam content outline.

    What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

    PMI does not publish a fixed pass mark. The passing score is set psychometrically, and results are reported with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

    What happens if I do not pass the first time?

    Do I need prior experience to take this training?

    You can enrol in the training at any experience level. To sit the PMI-RMP exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and risk education under one of three eligibility sets. The training provides the risk education hours and helps you plan your application.

    The training covers the five domains: Risk Strategy and Planning, Risk Identification, Risk Analysis, Risk Response, and Monitor and Close Risks. It includes qualitative and quantitative techniques such as Monte Carlo simulation, decision trees and expected monetary value.

    Does this course satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?
