Course Content

What topics does the Minitab Essentials course cover?

The course covers six modules: Minitab interface and data management, descriptive statistics and graphs, hypothesis testing, statistical process control, process capability analysis, and regression with measurement system analysis (Gauge R&R). Every module is delivered with live software exercises.

What will I be able to do after completing the training?

You will be able to import and manage data, create quality graphs, run t-tests, ANOVA and chi-square tests, build I-MR, Xbar-R, P and C control charts, run capability analysis with Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk, and carry out regression and a Gauge R&R study in Minitab.

Are the sessions hands-on?

Yes. The training is built around live Minitab exercises. You follow along in the software as the trainer demonstrates each function, then practise it on realistic quality datasets, so you gain proficiency through doing rather than watching.

How long is the Minitab Essentials training?

The programme runs for one day, around eight hours, covering all six modules. It can also be delivered as two half-days totalling the same eight hours, which teams sometimes prefer to fit around work schedules.

Does the course cover SPC and process capability?

Yes. A full module is dedicated to statistical process control, covering I-MR, Xbar-R, P and C charts, and another to process capability, covering Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk and the Capability Sixpack report used in Six Sigma project reviews.
