    Who should take Primavera P6 training?

    Is Primavera P6 training worth it in South Africa?

    Yes. P6 is mandated on most large EPC and infrastructure contracts, and skilled schedulers are scarce. Practical P6 skills open planner, scheduler and project controls roles across a growing renewable-energy, mining and infrastructure market.

    Do I need prior Primavera P6 experience?

    No. The Fundamentals level assumes no P6 experience and only benefits from basic project awareness. The Advanced level is for those who have completed Fundamentals or already use P6 in their work.

    There is no formal test to sit. This is a hands-on skills course, so you build proficiency through live Primavera P6 exercises on realistic project scenarios throughout each level.

    Do I receive anything on completing the course?

    Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. More importantly, you leave with practical P6 skills you can apply on live projects straight away.

    Should I take Fundamentals or Advanced first?

    Take Fundamentals if you are new to P6 or use it occasionally. Take Advanced if you already use P6 regularly and want resource and cost loading, earned value, Claim Digger and multi-project skills.

    Do I need Primavera P6 installed for the training?

    You should have access to Oracle Primavera P6 (P6 Professional or P6 EPPM) for the hands-on exercises. Check with us before your session about software access and any training environment provided.

    How long is each level of the training?

    Fundamentals runs over 2 days (16 hours) and Advanced over 3 days (24 hours). Both are available as full-day or extended half-day formats to suit working professionals and teams.

    Fundamentals covers the EPS, OBS and WBS, activities, relationships, scheduling, the critical path, resources, baselines and progress. Advanced adds cost loading, earned value, Claim Digger, multi-project management and custom reporting.

    Will I learn earned value management in P6?

    Yes, at the Advanced level. You generate BCWS, BCWP and ACWP from a cost-loaded schedule and calculate SPI, CPI and estimate at completion to measure and forecast project performance.

    Does the course cover resource and cost loading?

    Yes. You create resources, roles and cost accounts, then resource-load and cost-load a schedule, build the project S-curve, and apply resource curves to model realistic effort and spending.

    Are the exercises hands-on?

    Every module is delivered with live P6 exercises. You follow along in the software as the trainer demonstrates each feature, using realistic construction, mining or engineering scenarios.

    Is the courseware up to date with current Primavera P6?

    Yes. The courseware reflects current Oracle Primavera P6 Professional and P6 EPPM features, covering both the desktop client and enterprise capabilities used on capital projects.
