What is the format of the two AgilePM exams?

The Foundation exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions. The Practitioner exam is open book, using scenario-based questions where the AgilePM Handbook is permitted. Both are delivered via online proctoring or an authorised test centre, based on the current AgilePM syllabi.

How many questions are there and how long is each exam?

The Foundation exam has 50 questions and lasts 40 minutes. The Practitioner exam has 4 scenario-based questions worth 15 marks each, 60 marks in total, and lasts 2 hours. You must pass both to hold both credentials.

What are the passing scores?

Both exams require 50% to pass. That means 25 out of 50 correct for the Foundation exam, and 30 out of 60 marks for the Practitioner exam. The training includes mock exams so you can gauge your readiness for both.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The AgilePM Handbook is permitted during the Practitioner exam. However, the scenario-based questions require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Efficient handbook navigation and deep method knowledge are both essential, and the course prepares you for both.

What are the prerequisites for each exam?

The Foundation exam has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Practitioner exam requires the AgilePM Foundation certification, or an accepted equivalent. The combined programme is designed to be taken sequentially, Foundation first, then Practitioner.

What topics does the AgilePM training cover?

The programme covers the AgilePM philosophy and eight principles, the lifecycle and management products, roles and responsibilities, requirements with MoSCoW prioritisation, timeboxing and quality, and planning, control and risk, at both knowledge and application levels.

What are the eight AgilePM principles?

They are: focus on the business need; deliver on time; collaborate; never compromise quality; build incrementally from firm foundations; develop iteratively; communicate continuously and clearly; and demonstrate control. The course shows how to apply each to real projects.

Do I need prior experience to take this course?

No prior AgilePM experience is required for Foundation, which is open to all. The Practitioner level is designed for those applying the framework in real projects, and the training builds you up from the fundamentals with guided, scenario-based practice.

Are practice questions and mock exams included?

Yes. The programme includes practice questions and mock exams for both the Foundation and Practitioner levels, along with industry case studies, so you can identify weak areas and build exam readiness before you sit each exam.

Is the courseware aligned with the current AgilePM standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to the current edition of the AgilePM Handbook, published by the Agile Business Consortium, and to the official AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi.
