Is PMP required before taking the PMI-RMP?

No. PMP certification is not a prerequisite for the PMI-RMP. You can apply directly based on your risk management experience and education. Many professionals hold both, as the two credentials are complementary.

Is the PMI-RMP recognised internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PMI-RMP is recognised by employers worldwide. It is especially valued in high-risk industries such as construction, finance, energy and technology, where formal project risk management is often contractually or regulatorily required.

How long is the PMI-RMP certification valid?

The PMI-RMP is valid for three years from the date of certification. To maintain it, you earn 30 PDUs in risk management topics within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions across five risk management domains, delivered via Pearson VUE online proctoring or a test centre.

How many questions are on the PMI-RMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and a time limit of 2.5 hours (150 minutes). It is closed book and delivered by computer, either through Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test centre.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and weights?

There are five domains per the January 2022 outline: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams and revision support are designed to help you pass with confidence.

What topics does the PMI-RMP training cover?

The training covers all five risk management domains: risk strategy and planning, risk identification, risk analysis, risk response, and monitoring and closing risks. It includes qualitative and quantitative tools across predictive, agile and hybrid delivery.

Do I need prior experience to take this training?

You can join the training at any stage to build risk skills and earn the required education hours. To sit the exam, PMI requires documented project risk management experience and education, which vary by your qualification path.

Does the training satisfy the PMI-RMP education requirement?

Yes for most candidates. The 32 contact hours provided fully satisfy the 30-hour requirement for Set B (bachelor's degree) and Set C (GAC-accredited degree). Set A candidates need 40 hours and should supplement with at least eight additional hours.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the Examination Content Outline and PMI-RMP Handbook, practice questions, mock exams, an exam simulator, templates and domain-wise quizzes to reinforce your learning.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest PMI-RMP outline?

There are three paths: Set A (secondary diploma) needs 36 months of risk experience and 40 hours of education; Set B (bachelor's degree) needs 24 months and 30 hours; Set C (GAC-accredited degree) needs 12 months and 30 hours. Experience must be within the last five years.
