    Exam

What is the format of the PMI-RMP exam?

The PMI-RMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PMI-RMP Examination Content Outline effective January 2022. It uses single-answer and multiple-answer questions across five risk management domains.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The exam has 115 questions and you have 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to complete it. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What are the PMI-RMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains per the January 2022 ECO: Risk Strategy and Planning (20%), Risk Identification (20%), Risk Analysis (23%), Risk Response (22%) and Monitor and Close Risks (15%).

What is the passing score for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level performance feedback, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm current amounts at pmi.org. Our practice tests and revision support help you prepare with confidence.

Where can I take the PMI-RMP exam?

You can take the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring system or at a Pearson VUE test center, including centers in and around Orlando. Scheduling is done through PMI's portal or the Pearson VUE website.

    Course Content

What will I learn in the PMI-RMP training?

You will learn to plan risk strategy, identify threats and opportunities, perform qualitative and quantitative analysis, plan and implement risk responses, and monitor and close risks. The program covers all five ECO domains and applies them to predictive, agile and hybrid projects.

Do I need prior experience, or can a beginner take this training?

Anyone can enroll in the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires project risk management experience and education under one of three eligibility sets, so the training suits professionals who already work with project risk and want to formalize their expertise.

What are the eligibility requirements for the PMI-RMP exam?

PMI offers three sets: Set A (secondary diploma, 36 months of risk experience in the last 5 years, 40 education hours); Set B (bachelor's degree, 24 months experience, 30 hours); and Set C (GAC-accredited degree, 12 months experience, 30 hours).

Are practice tests and mock exams included?
