Assessment

Is JIRA training a test-based course?

No. It is a practical, hands-on skills course. You learn by working through live Jira exercises using realistic Agile scenarios, and there is no test to sit at either level.

Do I receive proof after completing the course?

Yes. You receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning recognising the Jira skills you have built. The skills are immediately applicable at work and do not expire.

How will I know I am making progress during the training?

Progress is reinforced through hands-on exercises, knowledge checks and trainer feedback throughout each session. You practise every feature as it is taught, so you build confidence by doing, not just watching.

Do I need prior Jira experience to attend?

For Fundamentals, no prior Jira experience is needed. For Advanced, you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience, since it covers configuration and administration in depth.

You should have access to a Jira environment during training. Jira Cloud offers a free tier for practice, and we will confirm whether a shared training environment is provided when you enrol.

What topics does the JIRA training cover?

Fundamentals covers projects, the Epic to Subtask hierarchy, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, versions, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports. Advanced adds workflows, schemes, custom fields, dashboards, automation, DevOps integrations and Jira administration.

What will I be able to do after the Fundamentals level?

You will be able to create and configure Jira projects, manage issues, run sprints on the Scrum board, use the Kanban board with WIP limits, plan releases with versions, save JQL filters and read Agile reports such as velocity and burndown charts.

What does the Advanced level add?

Advanced covers custom workflows with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission and notification schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, no-code automation rules, and integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket, GitHub and CI/CD tools, plus Jira administration.

Does the course cover JQL and dashboards?

Yes. Fundamentals introduces filters and basic JQL, and Advanced covers complex JQL including CHANGED and WAS operators plus building team and management dashboards with gadgets for real-time reporting.
