The Payoff from Building QFD CapabilityFor Individuals and Teams

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

QFD training gives you a repeatable method to turn what customers say into what engineers build, so your designs hit the mark the first time. It suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers and R&D professionals who want customer-driven, defensible design decisions. Whether you are launching new products, redesigning a service, or supporting Design for Six Sigma projects, the House of Quality gives you a shared, visual tool your whole team can rally around.

If you want to prove your design choices with evidence instead of opinion, QFD is one of the most practical skills you can add. You leave able to run a Voice of the Customer workshop, build a House of Quality, and cascade requirements through to production.

    • Turn customer requirements into measurable engineering and design targets
    • Build and interpret the House of Quality with confidence
    • Cut costly design rework by catching conflicts early in the roof matrix

Market Forces Making QFD Skills Valuable in India

    Late-Stage Design Rework

Indian manufacturers lose time and margin fixing designs late in development. QFD surfaces customer-requirement conflicts early, when changes are still cheap to make.

    QFD catches conflicts early

Voice of the Customer Lost in Handoffs

Customer insight often fades between marketing and engineering. QFD keeps requirements visible and traceable from the first idea all the way to production.

Developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno, it is used across manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, services and software to design quality in from the start.

The training suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt practitioners. Anyone who needs to turn customer requirements into design or service specifications will benefit, regardless of prior QFD experience.

Yes. QFD is a practical, immediately usable skill that helps you cut design rework, prioritise what customers value, and lead Voice of the Customer and House of Quality work. In India, these capabilities support roles from quality and design engineer through to product and new product development manager.

No. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development, quality management or Six Sigma is helpful but not required, so beginners and experienced professionals can both follow along comfortably.

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the same House of Quality method applies to service design, healthcare, financial services, IT and software, wherever customer requirements must be translated into delivery or design specifications.

    General

What is Quality Function Deployment (QFD)?

Quality Function Deployment is a structured, customer-driven method for translating the Voice of the Customer into specific engineering and design characteristics using the House of Quality matrix. Developed in Japan by Yoji Akao and Shigeru Mizuno, it is used across manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, services and software to design quality in from the start.

Who should take the QFD training in India?

The training suits product designers, design and quality engineers, product managers, marketing and R&D professionals, and Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt practitioners. Anyone who needs to turn customer requirements into design or service specifications will benefit, regardless of prior QFD experience.

    Is QFD training worth it?

Yes. QFD is a practical, immediately usable skill that helps you cut design rework, prioritise what customers value, and lead Voice of the Customer and House of Quality work. In India, these capabilities support roles from quality and design engineer through to product and new product development manager.

Do I need prior experience to learn QFD?

No. The course introduces QFD and the House of Quality from first principles. Familiarity with product development, quality management or Six Sigma is helpful but not required, so beginners and experienced professionals can both follow along comfortably.

Does QFD apply to services and software too?

Yes. While QFD began in manufacturing, the same House of Quality method applies to service design, healthcare, financial services, IT and software, wherever customer requirements must be translated into delivery or design specifications.

    Pricing

How much does QFD training cost in India?

Fees vary by delivery format (live virtual, classroom or corporate) and group size. There is no separate exam or awarding-body fee, as this is a skills training course. For current pricing in Indian rupees, request a quote from a learning advisor.

What is included in the course fee?

The fee typically covers instructor-led training, structured courseware, hands-on House of Quality exercises, reusable templates and a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. Contact us to confirm what your chosen format includes.

Do you offer group or corporate pricing?

Yes. We offer corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for product, engineering and quality teams. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

Are there any additional or hidden fees?

No. Because QFD is a non-certification course, there is no examination or external body fee. Your training fee covers the programme and materials. Request a quote to see the full inclusions for your chosen format.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major credit and debit cards and bank transfers, and offer instalment options on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you best.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for the QFD training?

No. QFD training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on House of Quality construction exercises, case studies and team discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after completing the programme. This is not a credential from an external awarding body; QFD has no such body, and the value is the practical skill you can apply immediately.

    How is my learning assessed?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you build and interpret a real House of Quality during the session, so you demonstrate the skills hands-on through exercises and team activities rather than through a test.

How long is the QFD training?

The programme runs for one day (about eight hours), covering QFD foundations, Voice of the Customer capture, full House of Quality construction, matrix interpretation, four-phase cascading, and QFD in Design for Six Sigma and services.

Does QFD training support Six Sigma projects?

Yes. QFD is a core tool in the Design for Six Sigma (DMADV) Measure phase and the DMAIC Define phase. The training gives Green Belt and Black Belt practitioners the depth to translate the Voice of the Customer into CTQs and design requirements.

    Course Content

What topics does the QFD course cover?

The course covers QFD principles and origins, Voice of the Customer capture (affinity diagrams, Kano model, importance weighting), building all six rooms of the House of Quality, interpreting the matrix, four-phase QFD cascading, and QFD in DFSS, DMAIC and service design.

What is the House of Quality?

The House of Quality is the central QFD planning matrix. It links customer requirements to measurable engineering characteristics, scores their relationships, flags design conflicts in the roof, benchmarks competitors and sets engineering targets, all anchored to customer priorities.

    Will I get hands-on practice?

Yes. You build a complete House of Quality from a realistic product or service scenario during the training, including Voice of the Customer structuring, the relationship matrix, the correlation roof and column importance calculations.

What are the four phases of QFD?

The four-phase cascade runs from Product Planning (the House of Quality) through Parts Deployment, Process Planning and Production Planning, creating a traceable link from each customer requirement all the way to production quality controls.

    What learning materials are provided?

You receive structured courseware, House of Quality templates, worked examples and case studies to support your learning and to reuse on your own projects after the training.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in the QFD course?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website. Choose your preferred format, complete payment, and you will receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. See upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to get started.

    What training formats are available?

We offer the Quality Function Deployment course online (live virtual) as instructor-led training, plus classroom training and customised corporate onsite sessions, so you can pick the format that fits your schedule and your team.

When can I start the training?

New batches run regularly across India. Check upcoming schedules for the next available live virtual or classroom session, or contact a learning advisor to arrange a date that works for your team.

    Can I reschedule my enrolment?

Yes. Flexi options let you reschedule or transfer to another batch on selected plans. Contact support to arrange this.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

Refunds and cancellations are handled per our published policy, and selected plans include a money-back guarantee. Reach out to our team for the details that apply to your enrolment.
