How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams. The Foundation exam has 50 questions in 40 minutes, closed book, with a 50 percent pass mark (25 out of 50). The Practitioner exam has 5 scenario-based sections worth 16 marks each (80 total) over 2.5 hours, open book, with a 50 percent pass mark (40 out of 80).

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam is closed book with 50 single-answer, multiple-choice questions to complete in 40 minutes. You need 50 percent, that is 25 correct out of 50, to pass. It is usually taken at the end of the Foundation training.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam is open book and scenario based, with 5 sections each worth 16 marks, for a total of 80 marks, over 2.5 hours. You need 50 percent, that is 40 out of 80 marks, to pass. It applies change models to realistic organisational scenarios.

What does open book mean for the Practitioner exam?

The Change Management Practitioner Guide is permitted during the exam. However, the scenario questions require analysis and judgment, so you cannot simply look up answers. Both deep method knowledge and efficient guide navigation are essential, which our training builds.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?

Resits are available if you do not pass on your first attempt. You can retake the relevant exam, and our trainers provide targeted revision support to help you succeed. Retake policies and any fees are available on request.

What change management models does the syllabus cover?

No. Change Management Foundation has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Practitioner level requires the Foundation certification first, and the combined programme is designed to take you through both, so beginners are welcome.

What learning materials are provided?

You receive CMBoK-aligned courseware, industry case studies, practice questions and mock exams for both levels, plus guidance on open-book exam technique. Materials are designed to prepare you for both the Foundation and Practitioner exams.

Is the courseware aligned to the latest standard?

Yes. The training is aligned to the Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK) from the Change Management Institute and the current Change Management Practitioner Guide, along with the official Foundation and Practitioner exam syllabi.
