What is JIRA training and who is it for?

Is Jira training worth it in Serbia?

Yes. Jira is the default delivery tool for Serbia's software, outsourcing and product teams in Belgrade, Novi Sad and beyond. Fluency is a baseline expectation on most Agile teams, so strong Jira skills help you contribute faster and stand out to local and nearshoring employers.

Do I need prior Jira experience to start?

No. The Fundamentals level is designed for people new to Jira and needs no prior experience. The Advanced level assumes you have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience before attending.

What is the difference between Fundamentals and Advanced?

Fundamentals (2 days, 16 hours) covers projects, issues, Scrum and Kanban boards, roadmaps, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports. Advanced (3 days, 24 hours) adds workflow design, schemes, custom fields, dashboards, Jira Automation, integrations and administration.

Which version of Jira does the training use?

Training is delivered mainly on Jira Cloud, Atlassian's current hosted platform and the most widely used version. The concepts and configuration also apply to Jira Data Center, so your skills transfer whichever version your organisation runs.

Are there payment or instalment options?

Do I need a paid Jira licence to attend?

Not necessarily. Jira Cloud offers a free tier for up to 10 users that is enough for hands-on practice. Confirm with us whether a shared training environment is provided or whether you should set up a free Jira Cloud trial before the sessions.

Assessment

How is my learning checked during the course?

Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on exercises throughout each level rather than through a formal test. You follow along in a Jira environment and complete realistic tasks, so you build proficiency by doing and can see your own progress as you go.

Will I receive proof of completion?

Yes. On completing each level you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning that recognises the training you finished. It confirms the practical Jira skills you have built.

Does this course award a formal qualification?

No. This is practical, skills-based training rather than a formal qualification programme, and there is no external awarding body. The focus is on making you genuinely productive in Jira for day-to-day Agile delivery.

How do I know I am ready to use Jira at work?

The training is built around realistic delivery scenarios, so you practise the exact tasks you will do on the job, from running sprints to writing JQL and configuring workflows. By the end you can apply these skills directly to your own projects.

Can I practise on a real Jira environment?

Yes. You work in a live Jira environment throughout, following the trainer and completing exercises yourself. Confirm with us whether a shared training instance is provided or whether you should set up a free Jira Cloud trial in advance.

Course Content

What topics does the Jira training cover?

Across both levels you cover projects and issues, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps and releases, filters and JQL, Agile reports, custom workflows and schemes, custom fields, dashboards, Jira Automation, DevOps integrations and administration.

What will I be able to do after Fundamentals?

After Fundamentals you can create and configure projects, manage issues, run Scrum sprints and Kanban boards, plan roadmaps and releases, save JQL filters, and read Agile reports such as the Velocity Chart, Burndown Chart and Cumulative Flow Diagram.

What does the Advanced level add?

Advanced adds custom workflow design with conditions, validators and post-functions, permission and notification schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, Jira Automation rules, integrations with Confluence, Bitbucket and CI/CD tools, and Jira administration.

Are JQL and Jira Automation included?

Yes. Basic JQL and filters are covered in Fundamentals, while advanced JQL and no-code Jira Automation rules, including triggers, conditions, actions and smart values, are covered in depth in the Advanced level.

Are the sessions hands-on?

Yes. Every module is delivered with live Jira exercises using realistic Agile delivery scenarios. You configure and use Jira alongside the trainer rather than just watching, so the learning sticks.
