    Will I receive anything on completing the training?

    Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning. This is a record of participation, not a formal credential from an awarding body, as DFSS training has no governing certification body.

    Will I be able to apply DFSS at work straight away?

    Yes. The skills are immediately applicable. After the training you can run VOC workshops, build QFD matrices, use the Pugh matrix, conduct Design FMEAs and plan design verification on live product and process projects in your organisation.

    What topics are covered in the DFSS training?

    The training covers six modules: an introduction to DFSS and DMADV, the Define phase (VOC and Kano), the Measure phase (CTQ flow-down and QFD), the Analyse phase (concept generation, Pugh matrix and DFMEA), the Design phase (robust design, P-diagram and DFMA), and the Verify phase (verification, validation, design scorecard and transfer).

    What tools will I learn to use?

    You will practise the core DFSS tools: voice of the customer capture, the Kano model, CTQ flow-down, the QFD House of Quality, the Pugh concept selection matrix, Design FMEA with Risk Priority Numbers, the P-diagram and Taguchi robust design, design tolerancing, and the design scorecard.

    Is the course hands-on or mainly theory?

    It is hands-on. Alongside concept explanations, you work through realistic exercises, applying VOC to CTQ flow-down, building a QFD matrix, running a Pugh selection and completing a Design FMEA worksheet on practical design scenarios.

    What methodology does the course follow?

    The course follows DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify), the most widely used DFSS roadmap. It also introduces alternative frameworks such as IDOV and DMADOV so you understand how organisations adapt the roadmap to their own development process.

    Does the course cover Design of Experiments (DOE)?

    The course covers DOE at an awareness level within the Design phase, showing how experiments identify influential control factors and optimise robustness. For hands-on statistical DOE work, it pairs well with Minitab-focused training.
