The Delivery Pressures Making Scheduling Skills Essential

    Schedule Control on Mega-Projects

China's infrastructure and Belt and Road programmes run to multi-year, multi-site schedules where a single slipped dependency ripples across the plan, exactly what Microsoft Project scheduling skills are built to control.

Learn critical path and dependency management

    Digital Delivery and BIM Integration

As BIM and digital twins become standard on major builds, teams need planners who can turn complex work into structured, trackable schedules rather than static spreadsheets and manual updates.

    Build tool-driven planning skills

    Resource Overload Across Projects

Enterprises running dozens of concurrent projects struggle to see where the same people are over-committed. Microsoft Project resource management and levelling expose and resolve those conflicts.

    Master resource levelling and workload

    Cost and Capital Discipline

Margin pressure in services and capital discipline in infrastructure and manufacturing push organisations to track cost and value tightly, using baselines, variance analysis and Earned Value.

Apply cost tracking and Earned Value

    Inconsistent Project Reporting

When every manager reports progress differently, leaders cannot compare projects. Shared Microsoft Project practice gives PMOs consistent baselines, variance and status views across the portfolio.

    Standardise scheduling and status reporting

    Shortage of Tool-Proficient Planners

China's talent pool is deep in project managers but thinner in professionals fluent in the scheduling software itself, making hands-on Microsoft Project skills a clear differentiator for hiring.

Stand out with proven scheduling skills

    Course Content

What topics does the Fundamentals level cover?

What does the Advanced level add?

Advanced adds task types and advanced scheduling, resource levelling and resource pools, cost management and Earned Value, custom fields, views and visual reports, master projects with cross-project links, what-if scenarios and Microsoft 365 integration.

You will be able to apply the right task types, run resource levelling, connect resource pools, calculate Earned Value metrics, build custom views and reports, manage master projects with cross-project links and plan what-if schedule scenarios.

How is my learning reinforced during the course?

Learning is reinforced through continuous hands-on practice. You build real schedules in Microsoft Project alongside the trainer and complete exercises using realistic project scenarios, so you leave able to apply the skills rather than just recall them.
