Assessment

Is there a test or exam in this training?

No. Minitab Essentials is a non-assessed skills course with no test. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Minitab exercises throughout the day, so you practise every technique rather than sit a formal evaluation.

Will I receive a record of completion?

Yes. After completing the one-day programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning, confirming the Minitab skills you have practised. It is a training completion record, not a formal external credential.

Does this make me a qualified Minitab user?

The course builds practical, job-ready Minitab skills rather than awarding a formal qualification. You finish able to import data, run the core analyses, and interpret results, which is what quality and Six Sigma roles actually require day to day.

How is learning reinforced without a test?

Every module is taught through live Minitab exercises using realistic quality and process datasets. You follow each analysis step by step as the trainer demonstrates it, so proficiency comes from repeated hands-on practice rather than passive observation.

How long is the programme?

The training runs for one day, totalling around eight hours, and covers all six Minitab modules from data management to regression and Gauge R&R. It can also be delivered as two half-day sessions where that suits your schedule better.

What topics does Minitab Essentials training cover?

The syllabus spans six modules: Minitab interface and data management, descriptive statistics and graphs, hypothesis testing, statistical process control, process capability analysis, and regression with Gauge R&R measurement system analysis.

Is the training hands-on?

Yes. This is a practical, software-focused course. You work in Minitab throughout, following the trainer through each function and analysis using realistic datasets, so you build genuine confidence in the tool rather than just watching demonstrations.

What kinds of analysis will I be able to run in Minitab?

You will be able to summarise data, build quality graphs, run t-tests, ANOVA and chi-square tests, create I-MR, Xbar-R, P and C control charts, report Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk capability, and carry out regression and Gauge R&R studies.

Does the course cover statistical process control and capability?

Yes. A full module covers SPC, including I-MR, Xbar-R, P and C charts and the Western Electric rules, and another covers process capability with Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk and the Capability Sixpack for reporting to management and auditors.

Are practice datasets provided?

Yes. The programme uses realistic quality and process improvement datasets so you can practise each technique in a workplace-like context. Corporate groups can also train on their own organisation's data for immediate, relevant application.
