Are there any exam or examination fees?

No. Kaizen training is a non-certification course, so there is no examination and no separate examination fee. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning as part of the programme.

Assessment

Is there an exam for Kaizen training?

No. Kaizen training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on workshop simulations, team activities and group discussion during the one-day programme.

Do I receive a certificate after the training?

Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning once you complete the one-day programme. No external credential or awarding body is involved, as Kaizen is a methodology rather than a certification.

How am I assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, hands-on Kaizen event simulations and team exercises run throughout the day so you practise applying the methodology while you learn.

How long is the Kaizen training programme?

The course runs for one day, around eight hours in total, and can also be delivered as two half-day sessions. It covers the Kaizen philosophy, PDCA cycle, planning and running a Kaizen event, lean tools, and sustaining improvements.

Will I be able to run a Kaizen event after the course?

Yes. By the end you can plan a Kaizen event, facilitate it through Gemba observation, root cause analysis, future-state design and implementation, apply tools such as 5S and standard work, and embed daily Kaizen to sustain gains.

Course Content

What topics does the Kaizen training cover?

The programme covers six areas: the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle and thinking tools, planning a Kaizen event, running a Kaizen event, lean and quality tools in practice, and sustaining improvement and building a continuous improvement culture.

What lean tools will I learn to use?

You learn 5S, standard work, the spaghetti diagram, time and cycle-time observation, the eight wastes (DOWNTIME), 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking outstanding actions after an event.

Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Workshop simulations run throughout the day so you practise planning and facilitating a Kaizen event using realistic process scenarios, not just listen to theory.

Do I need lean experience to follow the content?

No. The course introduces every concept from first principles, so beginners can follow it, while those with some lean background gain structured facilitation skills.

How does Kaizen relate to Lean and Six Sigma?

Kaizen is the engine of lean improvement and is used in the Improve and Control phases of Six Sigma DMAIC. It complements value stream mapping, 5S, poka yoke and the 7 QC tools, which are available as separate Invensis Learning courses.
