What topics does the Six Sigma course cover?

The training covers six modules: Six Sigma history and philosophy and the business case, key concepts and terminology, the DMAIC methodology, Six Sigma roles and organisational structure, core tools at an awareness level, and Lean Six Sigma in practice.

What is the DMAIC methodology?

DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control. It is the structured, phase-gated Six Sigma roadmap for improving existing processes, and the course explains what each phase delivers at an awareness level.

How long is the training?

The course runs for one day, around eight hours, and can also be delivered as two half-day sessions. It covers all six modules with concept explanations, case study examples and interactive discussion.

Does the course cover Lean Six Sigma?

Yes. The final module introduces Lean Six Sigma, the combination of Lean waste elimination with Six Sigma variation reduction, and shows how Lean tools such as value stream mapping and 5S complement the DMAIC methodology.

What Six Sigma target does the course teach?

The course explains the Six Sigma goal of near-perfect quality: fewer than 3.4 defects per million opportunities (DPMO). You learn how sigma level and DPMO measure process performance and enable comparison across processes.
