What is the format of the two exams?

Both exams are closed book with 40 multiple-choice questions and a 60-minute duration. The Foundation exam uses single-answer questions across 14 topic areas, while the Practitioner exam uses scenario-based questions across 7 topic areas that test applied judgement.

What is the passing score?

The passing score is 65% for both exams, which is 26 out of 40 questions correct. This applies to the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam alike.

Are there prerequisites for the exams?

The Foundation exam has no formal prerequisites and is open to all. The Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite for the Practitioner exam, which is why the combined programme covers both levels in sequence.

Where can I sit the exams?

You can take both exams online through EXIN's online proctored exam system, or at an EXIN accredited testing location. They are typically arranged through an EXIN accredited training provider as part of the combined programme.

What if I do not pass the first time?
