    Course Content

    What will I learn in the Fundamentals level?

    You will create a project and calendar, build the work breakdown structure, link tasks with dependencies, identify the critical path, assign work, material and cost resources, spot over-allocation, set a baseline, track progress with percent complete, and generate built-in reports.

    What does the Advanced level cover?

    Advanced covers task types and the scheduling formula, resource pools and levelling, cost management and Earned Value, custom fields, views and visual reports, master projects with cross-project links and programme reporting, plus what-if scenarios and project closure.

    How long is each level of the training?

    The Fundamentals level runs over 2 days (16 hours) and the Advanced level over 3 days (24 hours). Both are available as full-day or extended half-day sessions. You can attend either level on its own or both in sequence.

    Is the training hands-on?

    Yes. Both levels are built around live, hands-on exercises in Microsoft Project using realistic project scenarios. You follow along as the trainer demonstrates each feature, building genuine proficiency through practice rather than theory alone.

    Does the training relate to PMP or PRINCE2 methods?

    Yes. Microsoft Project is the scheduling tool used to apply project management methods such as PMBOK-based practice and PRINCE2, including critical path and Earned Value techniques. The course complements methodology training by teaching the software that puts it into practice.

    Assessment

    Is there an exam for Microsoft Project training?

    No. This is a practical skills course with no examination at either level. Your learning is reinforced through hands-on exercises throughout the training rather than a test.

    Do I receive a certificate after the course?

    Yes. You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning after finishing the training. There is no external awarding body for Microsoft Project skills training, so it is not a formal certification, but it records your completion.

    How is my learning assessed?

    There is no formal assessment. Instead, you build and demonstrate skills through hands-on Microsoft Project exercises using realistic scenarios during the sessions, so you leave able to apply what you have learned.

    What will I be able to do after the training?

    After Fundamentals you can build, resource and track a full project schedule. After Advanced you can level resources, report Earned Value, build custom views and reports, and manage master projects and programmes in Microsoft Project.

    Should I take Fundamentals or Advanced?

    Choose Fundamentals if you are new to Microsoft Project or use it occasionally. Choose Advanced if you already use it regularly and want to master resource levelling, Earned Value, custom reporting and multi-project management. Many learners take both in sequence.
