How many exams are in the combined programme?

There are two separate exams: the Foundation exam and the Practitioner exam. You must sit and pass both to hold both credentials. The programme prepares you for each in turn.

What is the format of the Foundation exam?

The Foundation exam has 40 single-answer, multiple-choice questions, lasts 60 minutes and is closed book. The passing score is 65%, which is 26 out of 40 correct. It is delivered online proctored or at an accredited test location.

What is the format of the Practitioner exam?

The Practitioner exam also has 40 questions over 60 minutes and is closed book, but the questions are scenario-based, testing how you apply techniques in realistic project situations. The passing score is 65%, and the Foundation certificate is the recommended prerequisite.

What is the passing score for the exams?

Both exams require 65% to pass, which is 26 correct answers out of 40. The Foundation exam tests knowledge and comprehension, while the Practitioner exam tests application and analysis across scenario-based questions.

Where can I take the EXIN BCS exams?

You can take both exams online through EXIN's online proctored system, or at an accredited testing location. They are usually arranged through your accredited training provider as part of the combined programme.

What if I do not pass an exam on the first attempt?
