Do I get a certification after JIRA training?

What are the two levels of JIRA training?

Fundamentals (2 days) covers projects, issues, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports. Advanced (3 days) covers custom workflows, schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, automation, integrations and Jira administration.

Do I need prior Jira experience to join?

No prior Jira experience is needed for the Fundamentals level. For the Advanced level you should have completed Fundamentals or have equivalent hands-on Jira experience. Basic familiarity with Agile concepts is helpful but not required.

Do I need to pay for Jira software separately?

Jira Cloud offers a free tier for up to 10 users that is enough for hands-on practice, while paid Jira Cloud and Data Center plans are commercial Atlassian products. Confirm whether a shared training environment is provided when you enrol.

Assessment

Is there an exam for JIRA training?

No. JIRA training is a non-certification course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through live, hands-on Jira exercises and configuration activities throughout each level, so you build real, applicable skills rather than sitting a test.

How are my skills assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you practise each feature in a live Jira environment using realistic software delivery scenarios, so you can immediately see and apply what you have learned as the course progresses.

What do I receive on completing the training?

You receive a course completion certificate from Invensis Learning confirming the Jira skills you have built. It is a recognition of practical capability rather than a formal certification, and the skills apply directly to your work.

Will I be able to use Jira confidently after Fundamentals?

Yes. After Fundamentals you can create and configure projects, manage issues across the full hierarchy, run sprints on the Scrum board, use the Kanban board, plan releases, write basic JQL and read the core Agile reports.

What will I be able to do after the Advanced level?

After Advanced you can design custom workflows, configure permission, notification and screen schemes, create custom fields, write advanced JQL, build dashboards, create automation rules, connect Jira to DevOps tools and administer a Jira instance.

What topics does JIRA training cover?

Fundamentals covers projects, the issue hierarchy, Scrum and Kanban boards, sprints, roadmaps, Versions, filters, basic JQL and Agile reports. Advanced adds workflows, schemes, custom fields, advanced JQL, dashboards, automation, integrations and administration.

Is the training hands-on?

Yes. Both levels are delivered with live instructor demonstration and hands-on exercises in a Jira environment. You follow along configuring projects, boards, workflows and reports using realistic Agile delivery scenarios.

Which Jira products and versions are covered?

The course focuses on Jira Software, with an overview of Jira Service Management and Jira Work Management. It covers Jira Cloud and Data Center, including features such as boards, JQL, automation and Atlassian toolchain integrations.

Does the course cover Jira automation and JQL?

Yes. Fundamentals introduces filters and basic JQL, while Advanced covers advanced JQL, including the CHANGED and WAS operators, and the no-code Jira automation engine with triggers, conditions, actions and smart values.
