What Is Kaizen and How Does It Drive Continuous Improvement?UntitledThe Engine of Lean Improvement

Kaizen training in Tunisia equips you with the Japanese continuous improvement method that turns small, daily changes into measurable operational gains. Kaizen, meaning "change for the better", is a structured Lean discipline developed within the Toyota Production System and introduced to a global audience by Masaaki Imai in his 1986 book, Kaizen: The Key to Japan's Competitive Success. This practical, one-day programme is built for operations managers, production supervisors, team leaders, quality engineers and Lean coordinators. You learn the Kaizen philosophy, the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, and how to plan, facilitate and sustain a Kaizen event that removes waste and improves flow. Hands-on workshop simulations let you practise the method before you take it back to your own processes. With Tunisia's automotive, aerospace and electronics plants competing on just-in-time delivery for European customers, teams that can run disciplined improvement events are in real demand. Start building that capability with Invensis Learning.

    For Individuals

    For Individuals

Kaizen training helps professionals move from understanding Lean in principle to leading improvement in practice. The programme suits operations managers, supervisors, quality engineers and Lean coordinators who want to run structured events and daily improvement in their own teams. Whether you work in an automotive plant, an aerospace unit, an electronics line or a service operation, the method gives you a shared language and a repeatable process for tackling waste and variation.

If you want to be the person who can walk to the Gemba, see the waste and lead a team to fix it, Kaizen is a direct route. You leave with hands-on facilitation experience and tools you can use in your next improvement event.

    • Learn to plan and facilitate a Kaizen event from Gemba walk to closeout
    • Spot and remove the eight wastes that slow your processes down
    • Apply the PDCA cycle to solve problems at the root, not the symptom
    • Use 5S, standard work and spaghetti diagrams to lock in improvements
    • Build practical credibility as a continuous improvement facilitator
    • Turn Lean theory into visible gains in quality, flow and safety
    • Sustain improvements so hard-won gains do not quietly revert
    • Add a portable skill valued across manufacturing and services
    For Organizations

    For Organizations

Kaizen group training helps organisations build continuous improvement capability by giving cross-functional teams a common method for eliminating waste and sustaining gains. It can be delivered for a single plant, a business unit or several sites together. For manufacturers under just-in-time and cost pressure, a team that shares the Kaizen approach can turn everyday problems into structured improvement rather than firefighting.

If your teams improve in bursts but struggle to sustain the gains, Kaizen training gives them the standard work, follow-up discipline and facilitation skills to make improvement a routine, not an event.

    • Builds a shared continuous improvement method across teams and shifts
    • Reduces waste, rework and downtime without heavy capital spend
    • Improves quality consistency ahead of customer and standards audits
    • Equips cross-functional teams to run their own Kaizen events

Why Tunisian Manufacturers Need Kaizen Now

    Just-In-Time Pressure from Europe

Tunisian plants supply European carmakers and aerospace primes on tight just-in-time schedules, so any waste or delay is costly. Kaizen gives teams a method to find and remove it fast.

Kaizen builds waste elimination and flow skills

A Deep but Under-Trained Talent Pool

Tunisia has thousands of skilled operators and engineers, but far fewer people trained to facilitate structured improvement events. That gap makes Kaizen facilitation skills valuable.

Kaizen makes improvement facilitators stand out

    Thin Margins in Cost-Led Manufacturing

Competing as a nearshore, cost-led base means margins are tight. Continuous improvement protects them by cutting scrap, rework and downtime without heavy new investment.

Kaizen builds low-cost process improvement skills

    Rising Quality and Audit Expectations

Automotive and aerospace customers demand consistent quality and documented corrective action. Kaizen events and standard work help plants pass audits and reduce defects.

Kaizen builds standard work and defect reduction skills

    Improvements That Fade over Time

Many improvement pushes lose momentum once attention moves on. Kaizen embeds 5S, standard work and daily habits so gains hold and do not quietly revert.

Kaizen builds skills to sustain the gains

    Green and Efficiency Transition

Sustainability pilots in Tunisia's automotive clusters from 2026 reward leaner, less wasteful processes, exactly the outcome that Kaizen is designed to deliver.

The Kaizen Tools You Will Learn to ApplyGemba, PDCA, 5S and More

In Kaizen training you will learn to plan, facilitate and sustain structured improvement events using the core Lean and quality tools. The programme moves from the Kaizen philosophy and PDCA cycle through waste analysis, event facilitation and standard work, with hands-on simulation throughout.

    The PDCA Improvement Cycle

Learn to run Plan-Do-Check-Act as a continuous loop: define a problem, test a countermeasure, check the result and standardise what works. PDCA is the thinking backbone of every Kaizen event and daily improvement.

    Waste Identification at the Gemba

Go to where the work happens and spot the eight wastes (DOWNTIME) along with Muda, Mura and Muri. You practise structured Gemba observation so you can see waste, overburden and unevenness that others walk past.

Planning and Facilitating a Kaizen Event

Select the right target, set measurable objectives, assemble a cross-functional team and prepare baseline data. You then facilitate the event through observation, analysis, future-state design and implementation.

    Root Cause Problem Solving

Apply 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams and simple process mapping to move quickly from symptom to root cause. These tools help a team agree on what to change and why, inside the tight timeframe of an event.

5S, Standard Work and Visual Management

Use 5S to organise the workplace, standard work to capture the best-known method, and spaghetti diagrams to expose wasted motion. Together they turn a one-off fix into a stable, repeatable process.

    Sustaining a Culture of Improvement

Keep gains alive with 30-60-90 day follow-up, the Kaizen newspaper, layered audits and daily improvement routines. You leave able to embed continuous improvement, not just deliver a single workshop.

    Kaizen

Frequently Asked QuestionsHere's everything you may ask...

Kaizen training is a practical programme that teaches you to lead continuous improvement using the Japanese Kaizen method of small, ongoing changes. It suits operations and production managers, team leaders, quality engineers, Lean coordinators and anyone driving improvement in Tunisia's manufacturing and service sectors.

Yes. Tunisian automotive, aerospace and electronics plants compete on just-in-time delivery and consistent quality, so people who can facilitate structured improvement are in demand. The skill supports roles from production team leader to continuous improvement engineer and operational excellence lead.

Kaizen means "change for the better" and was developed within the Toyota Production System. It was brought to a global audience by Masaaki Imai in his 1986 book, Kaizen: The Key to Japan's Competitive Success, and today underpins Lean management, Six Sigma and ISO 9001 continual improvement.

No. There are no prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean ideas such as waste and flow is helpful, but the training introduces every concept from first principles, so beginners and experienced practitioners can both benefit.

Kaizen combines daily, small improvements by everyone with focused, time-boxed Kaizen events. Rather than a single big project, it builds a repeatable habit of improvement supported by standard work, so gains are sustained instead of fading after the initial push.

    General

What is Kaizen training and who is it for?

Kaizen training is a practical programme that teaches you to lead continuous improvement using the Japanese Kaizen method of small, ongoing changes. It suits operations and production managers, team leaders, quality engineers, Lean coordinators and anyone driving improvement in Tunisia's manufacturing and service sectors.

Is Kaizen training worth it for my career in Tunisia?

Yes. Tunisian automotive, aerospace and electronics plants compete on just-in-time delivery and consistent quality, so people who can facilitate structured improvement are in demand. The skill supports roles from production team leader to continuous improvement engineer and operational excellence lead.

Where does the Kaizen method come from?

Kaizen means "change for the better" and was developed within the Toyota Production System. It was brought to a global audience by Masaaki Imai in his 1986 book, Kaizen: The Key to Japan's Competitive Success, and today underpins Lean management, Six Sigma and ISO 9001 continual improvement.

Do I need prior Lean experience to attend?

No. There are no prerequisites. Some familiarity with Lean ideas such as waste and flow is helpful, but the training introduces every concept from first principles, so beginners and experienced practitioners can both benefit.

How is Kaizen different from a one-off improvement project?

Kaizen combines daily, small improvements by everyone with focused, time-boxed Kaizen events. Rather than a single big project, it builds a repeatable habit of improvement supported by standard work, so gains are sustained instead of fading after the initial push.

    Pricing

How much does Kaizen training cost in Tunisia?

Pricing depends on the delivery format, whether you enrol as an individual or a group, and the size of the team. Fees for live virtual, classroom and onsite corporate options are available on request. Contact a learning advisor for a quote tailored to your needs.

What is included in the training fee?

The fee typically covers instructor-led delivery of all Kaizen modules, hands-on workshop simulation, course materials and templates, learner support and a course completion record from Invensis Learning. Request a quote to confirm what is included in your chosen format.

Do you offer group or corporate rates?

Yes. We provide corporate group training with customised schedules and volume-based pricing for plant teams, business units and multi-site programmes. Ask about corporate and group pricing for a tailored quote.

    What payment options are available?

We accept major cards and bank transfers, and instalment options may be available on selected plans. Speak with a learning advisor to choose the option that suits you or your organisation.

Is onsite corporate delivery more cost-effective for teams?

Often yes. Training a cross-functional team together onsite lets everyone practise a Kaizen event on your own processes and shares the cost across the group. Request a group quote to compare options for your team.

    Assessment

Is there an exam for Kaizen training?

No. This is a non-certification skills course with no examination. Learning is reinforced through hands-on workshop simulation, team activities and discussion, so you practise the method during the programme rather than sitting a test.

How am I assessed during the course?

There is no formal assessment. Instead, you apply the Kaizen method through Gemba observation, root cause analysis and a simulated improvement event, which lets you build and demonstrate the skills in a practical setting.

Do I receive anything on completion?

Yes. On completing the programme you receive a course completion record from Invensis Learning. It confirms your participation and the practical continuous improvement skills you have built, which you can apply immediately at work.

Which standards and frameworks does the training reference?

The course grounds Kaizen in the Toyota Production System and Lean management, and references the PDCA cycle, the eight wastes, 5S and standard work. It also connects to ISO 9001 continual improvement and the Improve and Control phases of Six Sigma DMAIC.

What will I be able to do after the training?

You will be able to plan a Kaizen event, facilitate it through its phases, apply tools such as 5S, standard work and the Kaizen newspaper, and embed daily improvement to sustain the gains in your own team or plant.

    Course Content

What topics does the Kaizen syllabus cover?

The syllabus spans the Kaizen philosophy, the PDCA cycle and thinking tools, planning and running a Kaizen event, Kaizen tools in practice (5S, standard work, spaghetti diagram, cycle time analysis) and sustaining improvement to build a continuous improvement culture.

How long is the Kaizen training programme?

The programme is delivered in one day of eight hours, covering the philosophy, PDCA cycle, event planning, running an event, Kaizen tools and sustaining improvement, with hands-on workshop simulation throughout. An extended half-day format across two days is also possible.

Are there hands-on exercises or is it lecture-based?

It is highly practical. Workshop simulation runs throughout, so you plan and practise elements of a Kaizen event using realistic process scenarios rather than only listening to concepts. Team exercises reinforce each tool as it is introduced.

Which Kaizen tools will I actually practise?

You practise Gemba walks, waste identification, 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis, current and future-state process mapping, 5S, standard work, the spaghetti diagram and the Kaizen newspaper for tracking follow-up actions.

Does the course apply outside manufacturing?

Yes. While Kaizen originated in manufacturing, the same method improves processes in healthcare, logistics, financial services, IT and the public sector. The principles of waste elimination, flow and standard work apply wherever teams want sustainable improvement.

    Enrollment

How do I enrol in Kaizen training?

You can enrol through the Invensis Learning website or by contacting a learning advisor. Choose your preferred format, complete your booking, and you will receive access to the schedule, course materials and joining details. See upcoming batches to get started.

    What delivery formats are available?

Kaizen training is available online as live virtual instructor-led sessions, as in-person classroom training, and as onsite corporate delivery for teams. Choose the format that best fits your schedule and your organisation's needs.

    How soon can I start?

Public sessions run on a regular schedule, and corporate onsite dates are arranged to suit your team. Check upcoming batches or talk to a learning advisor to find the next available date that works for you.

    Can I reschedule my booking?

Yes. Rescheduling and transfer options are available on selected plans. Contact our support team to move your place to another batch, and we will help you find a convenient alternative.

Can you train a whole team at our site in Tunisia?

Yes. We deliver onsite corporate Kaizen training across Tunisia, tailored to your processes and shift patterns, so a cross-functional team can learn and practise together. Request a group quote to arrange delivery at your location.
