What is the PfMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PfMP worth it for professionals in Pittsburgh?

The training fee typically includes PMI-aligned courseware, practice questions, mock exams, exam simulator access, downloadable templates, application and panel-review support, learner support, and a course completion certificate with contact hours. The PMI exam fee is separate.

How much does PfMP training cost in Pittsburgh?

What if I do not pass the PfMP exam the first time?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility window. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams, simulator and trainer guidance are designed to support a confident first attempt.

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across the five performance domains.

How many questions are on the exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). It is delivered via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%). Aim for broad mastery across all five.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is determined through psychometric analysis, with domain-level feedback reported as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PfMP, in which a panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. You must pass both the panel review and the written exam to earn the credential.

Can I take this training if I am new to portfolio frameworks?

Yes. The training is built for experienced professionals and gives structured readiness even if you are new to formal portfolio frameworks. Prerequisites apply to sitting the PMI exam, not to attending the course, and trainers support you throughout.

What topics does the PfMP training cover?

The training covers the five PfMP performance domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), plus the application, panel review and exam strategy.
