The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It covers five performance domains: Strategic Alignment, Governance, Portfolio Performance, Portfolio Risk Management and Communications Management.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Results are determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback, so focus on broad mastery across all five performance domains.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP process. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. Both the panel review and the written exam must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?
