How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). It can be taken via Pearson VUE OnVUE online proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center.

What are the PfMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%). Broad mastery across all five is the best way to prepare.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is a mandatory step in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What if I do not pass the exam on the first attempt?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our prep resources, mock exams and trainer guidance are designed to help you pass with confidence.
