    Exam

What is the format of the PfMP exam?

The PfMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PfMP Examination Content Outline and the Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition. It uses scenario and situational questions across the five performance domains.

How many questions are on the PfMP exam and how long is it?

The PfMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center.

What is the passing score for the PfMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What if I do not pass the exam the first time?

You have up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period from application approval. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts, and our prep resources and mock exams help you close gaps before you retake.

What is the PfMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PfMP. A panel of portfolio management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and our training includes guidance to help you prepare.

    Course Content

What topics are covered in the PfMP training?

The training covers the five PfMP performance domains: Strategic Alignment (25%), Governance (20%), Portfolio Performance (25%), Portfolio Risk Management (14%) and Communications Management (16%), plus application and panel-review guidance and exam strategy.

Do I need prior experience to take the training?

Anyone can attend the training, though PfMP is a senior credential. To sit the exam, PMI requires substantial business and portfolio management experience. The course helps experienced professionals consolidate knowledge and prepare for the exam and panel review.

Are practice tests, mock exams or assignments included?

Yes. The program includes 1000+ practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build exam readiness across the five domains.

Is the courseware aligned with the latest PfMP standard?

Yes. The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Portfolio Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PfMP Examination Content Outline (ECO).

Will I receive a certificate of completion after the training?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the contact hours earned through the program, which you can also use toward the PMI application.

    Enrollment

How soon can I start and how do I enroll in Tampa?

You can enroll through the Invensis Learning website and pick an upcoming live online, classroom or self-paced batch. Choose your format, complete payment, and you receive access to schedules, courseware and learning resources. Talk to an advisor to see current batches.

What are the eligibility requirements to sit the PfMP exam?

PMI requires 120 months (10 years) of professional business experience within the past 15 years, plus portfolio management experience (84 months with a secondary diploma or 48 months with a four-year degree), and completion of the panel review.

    What training formats are available?

We offer live online (virtual) instructor-led training, onsite classroom training, self-paced e-learning, and customized corporate group training, so you can choose the format that fits your schedule and learning style.

Can I reschedule or transfer to another batch?
