What Is Driving Program Management Demand in Tampa

    Defense Program Governance at Scale

MacDill Air Force Base hosts CENTCOM and SOCOM, and large defense and government programs demand rigorous governance, benefits tracking and multi-project coordination, the exact gap PgMP is built to close.

PgMP builds governance and coordination skills

    Financial Services Transformation

Citi, JPMorgan Chase and Raymond James run multi-year core banking and digital programs where weak links between strategy and the funded project mix cause value leakage that program leaders are hired to fix.

    PgMP builds strategy-to-delivery skills

    Healthcare System Complexity

BayCare and HCA West Florida coordinate hospital, digital health and expansion programs across an aging, fast-growing region, demanding program-grade benefits realization and stakeholder engagement.

    Program Talent Scarcity

Tampa Bay's talent pool is deep in project managers but thin in credentialed program managers. PgMP's rigorous eligibility and multi-rater panel review make holders rare and sought-after.

PgMP makes certified program leaders stand out

    Strategy-Execution Gap

Boards fund transformation portfolios, but many enterprises lack the program-level governance layer that connects investment to outcomes, so employers now hire leaders who can close that gap.

    Rapid Metro Growth Pressure

As one of Florida's fastest-growing metros, Tampa employers scale delivery fast and need program leaders who can align concurrent projects to strategy and govern benefits at pace.

    Exam

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is closed book with multiple-choice questions, based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. It covers five performance domains and uses scenario-based questions.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The exam has 170 questions and an allotted time of four hours (240 minutes). It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

Five domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%). Program Life Cycle Management carries the most weight.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. Results are determined through psychometric analysis and reported with domain-level feedback such as Above Target or Target, so focus on broad mastery across all five domains.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of program management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential. Our training includes application and panel-review guidance.

What happens if I do not pass the exam?

PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to later attempts. Our prep resources, mock exams and trainer support are designed to help you pass with confidence.

What topics are covered in the PgMP training?

The training covers the five PgMP performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus the PMI application, panel review and exam strategy.

Can I take this training with no prior certification?

Anyone can attend the training. To sit the exam, PMI requires substantial program experience and either a degree or an active PMP, so the course suits experienced program and project leaders preparing for a senior credential.

What learning resources and materials are provided?

You receive PMI-aligned courseware, references to the PgMP Examination Content Outline and Handbook, a Standard for Program Management overview, templates, flashcards and chapter-wise quizzes to support your preparation.

Are there practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The program includes 1000+ practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes to help you identify weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question exam.
