How much does the PgMP exam cost?

PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD. As a reference, members pay around USD 800 and non-members around USD 1,000, and PMI membership is roughly USD 139 per year. Verify current fees on pmi.org before applying.

Is the exam fee included in the training price?

No. The PMI exam fee is billed separately by PMI in USD and is not part of the training fee. PMI members typically pay a lower exam fee than non-members, and membership can offset the difference.

What is the format of the PgMP exam?

The PgMP exam is a closed-book, multiple-choice examination based on the PgMP Examination Content Outline and The Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition. Questions span the five program management performance domains and include scenario-based items.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour (240-minute) allotted time. It is delivered online through Pearson VUE OnVUE proctoring or at a Pearson VUE test center.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to PgMP. A panel of program management practitioners evaluates your documented experience. It is a mandatory step alongside the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

What is the passing score for the PgMP exam?

PMI does not publish a fixed percentage pass mark. The result is set through psychometric analysis, and performance is reported by domain as Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement, so aim for broad mastery across all five domains.

What happens if I do not pass the exam, can I retake it?

Yes. PMI allows up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Re-examination fees apply to the second and third attempts; confirm the current amounts on pmi.org.

What are the eligibility requirements to earn PgMP?

Anyone can join the training. To earn PgMP, PMI requires either a secondary diploma with 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP, plus 84 months of program management experience; a degree reduces the program experience needed, all within the past 15 years.
