Do I need PMP before PgMP?

No. PMP is not a mandatory prerequisite for PgMP. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their program management experience.

What are the eligibility requirements for PgMP?

There are three sets. Set A: secondary diploma plus 48 months project management experience (or PMP) and 84 months program management experience. Set B: bachelor's degree plus 48 months and 48 months. Set C: GAC-accredited degree plus 36 months and 36 months. All experience must fall within the past 15 years.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with at least 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, reported through PMI's CCR system.

Is the PgMP recognized internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PgMP carries global recognition across more than 200 countries and is referenced by senior employers worldwide as a benchmark for program management excellence.

What is included in the PgMP training fee?

How much does PgMP training cost in San Diego?

How much is the PgMP exam fee?

What happens if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

You get up to three attempts within your one-year eligibility period. Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts. Our mock exams, practice questions and trainer guidance are built to prepare you for a first-time pass.

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice question formats, delivered via Pearson VUE.

What are the PgMP exam domains and their weights?

There are five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%).

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of program management practitioners evaluates your documented experience and competency. It is mandatory in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

How is the PgMP exam scored?

PMI uses a psychometrically determined passing score that is not published as a fixed number. Results are reported as pass or fail with domain-level feedback of Above Target, Target, Below Target or Needs Improvement.

Where can I take the PgMP exam?

You can sit the exam online through Pearson VUE's OnVUE proctoring system or at a Pearson VUE test center. Scheduling is done through the Pearson VUE website or PMI's portal.

Can a beginner take PgMP training?

PgMP is a senior credential with substantial experience prerequisites, so the training is built for experienced program and project leaders. If you are earlier in your career, PMP is usually the better first step before progressing to PgMP.
