What is the PgMP certification and who is it for?

Is the PgMP worth it for program managers in Atlanta?

Is PMP required before PgMP?

No. PMP certification is not a mandatory prerequisite for the PgMP. However, an active PMP satisfies the project management experience requirement across all three eligibility sets, so PMP holders only need to document their program management experience.

How long is the PgMP certification valid?

The PgMP is valid for three years. To maintain it, you earn 60 PDUs across the PMI Talent Triangle, with a minimum of 8 PDUs in each of Ways of Working, Power Skills and Business Acumen, within each three-year continuing certification requirements cycle.

Is the PgMP recognized internationally?

Yes. As a PMI credential, the PgMP carries global recognition across more than 200 countries and is referenced by senior employers worldwide as a benchmark for program management excellence. Its rarity makes it a distinctive differentiator.

How much does the PgMP exam cost?

PMI bills the PgMP exam fee separately in USD under regional pricing, with members paying less than non-members. PMI individual membership can reduce the exam cost and provides access to The Standard for Program Management. Confirm current fees on the PMI store before applying.

What if I do not pass the PgMP exam the first time?

How many questions are on the PgMP exam and how long is it?

The PgMP exam has 170 questions and a four-hour allotted time. It is closed book and uses multiple-choice question formats delivered via Pearson VUE.

What are the PgMP exam domains and weights?

The exam covers five performance domains: Strategic Program Management (11%), Program Life Cycle Management (44%), Benefits Management (11%), Stakeholder Engagement (16%) and Governance (18%), per the PgMP Examination Content Outline.

What is the PgMP panel review?

The panel review is a multi-rater assessment unique to the PgMP. A panel of program management practitioners evaluates your documented program experience. It is a mandatory step in addition to the written exam, and both must be passed to earn the credential.

Where can I take the PgMP exam in Atlanta?

You can sit the exam at a Pearson VUE test center in the Atlanta area or take it from home or office through Pearson VUE's OnVUE online proctoring, scheduled within your one-year eligibility period.

Do I need experience to benefit from PgMP training?

The training suits experienced professionals, since the PgMP itself requires substantial project and program management experience. If you are moving up from project management, the program helps you translate that experience into program-level governance and exam readiness.

What topics does the PgMP training cover?

The training covers the five performance domains: Strategic Program Management, Program Life Cycle Management, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Governance, plus PMI application guidance, panel-review preparation and exam strategy.

Which standard and edition is the training based on?

The courseware is aligned to PMI's Standard for Program Management, Fourth Edition, and the current PgMP Examination Content Outline. This 4th edition standard is the primary reference framework for the exam.

Are practice tests and mock exams included?

Yes. The program includes 1000+ practice questions, full-length mock exams, an exam simulator and topic-wise quizzes so you can identify weak areas and build readiness for the 170-question exam.

Will I receive a certificate of completion?

Yes. After meeting the course requirements you receive a course completion certificate along with the 24 contact hours earned through the program.

What are the eligibility requirements to earn the PgMP?

PMI offers three sets of requirements. With a four-year degree you need 48 months of project management experience or an active PMP, plus 48 months of program management experience within the last 15 years. A secondary diploma requires 84 months of program experience. A panel review also applies.

How do I enroll in the PgMP course in Atlanta?
